I am giving a quick presentation titled, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for a BNi client appreciation event next Thursday at the Willow Park Golf Course. Drawing on
rule #1 Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, it is a talk on gratitude, gratefulness, and appreciation. Once again, I only have to look to Barclay and Cheddar for my material.

SANTA PAWS IS COMING TO TOWN!
Only 4 more sleeps until Christmas!

As you're leaving out goodies for Santa or chocolate yummies await as gifts under the tree, be sure that your furry friend doesnt get into anything they shouldn't!

Have you ever noticed how grateful dogs are for their gifts? They dont care about how much you spent or how big the present is (well maybe they care if the bone is huge!) But no matter what, they are grateful for receiving anything at all.

We also give gifts to them without expecting anything but a happy demeanor and their company in return... can you say that about everyone on your Christmas list?

Dogs never stop teaching us!

PETS ARE FAMILY AND A BIG COMMITMENT
Did you ask Santa for a pet for Christmas? Did someone in your family? It certainly is a wonderful surpise to wake up on Christmas morning to the love of a new furry family member.

Please remember, that the commitment stretches far beyond Christmas morning and that unfortunately, the new year tends to be a busy time for shelters. Too many animals are surrendered after Christmas, be it because of unknown allergies, lack of communication within the family or just not getting what you expected. Animals are a HUGE commitment, be sure that a plan is in place for raising your new family member post holiday season.

A FRIENDLY REMINDER FOR YOUR PET THIS CHRISTMAS
Just a little warning regarding the treats many stores are now starting to stock for dogs at Christmas.

The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China. The chews are made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell.
Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes. On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde.

If that wasn't bad enough, they regularly cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue and choking.
The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog.

Leave them in the shop where they belong or if some well meaning person buys them for your dog put them safely away for later, then dispatch in the bin!

Please be safe with your dogs!

THE BOSTON RULES - building relationships like a dog.
Winter is upon us and so is one of the best lessons we can learn from our dogs.... Take time to play!

Nothing says fun like watching a snow-loving dog frolic, romp and roll in the powder! Just like kids, their appreciation of the "little things" and ability to be so easily amused by one of nature's natural wonders is priceless... get out and play with your pups!

THE BOSTON RULES - building relationships like a dog.
Our dogs show us time and time again, the value of our relationship. The affection, affirmations & compliments we so easily give them are never taken for granted. They show us how much they appreciate our love.

Phrases like "I love you" and "great job" can become habit in our relationships and lose potency over time. The trick is not only taking the time to say these things, but when on the receiving end, showing that you value these affirmations.

Great Job? = Thank you so much, I really appreciate your feedback.

I love you? = That's exactly what I needed to hear right now, I love you too!

It's a two way street! There is always room for more love and appreciation in a relationship.
