Please be aware that a bear has been spotted in the area near both the middle school and high school campuses. Local law enforcement and wildlife officials are on site and actively managing the situation to ensure everyone remains safe. Students and staff are secure inside our buildings. The high school is currently on a "Hold" order. Parents and Guardians,
Grand County School District is working alongside Moab City to ensure students and staff are safely welcomed to school this week and beyond.
If your students walk or ride down the Millcreek Pathway to attend any of our schools, please read the “Bear Sighting” advisement from Moab Police Department and Department of Wildlife Services.
Alongside Public Safety officials, we will take precautionary and safety measures to ensure school resumes as normal while wildlife may be near or on our campuses.

🔔 Reminder: Back to School Night is TONIGHT at HMK Elementary! 🔔

We are excited to welcome our 1st–6th Grade families tonight, Tuesday, August 18th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. To keep traffic smooth, attendance is divided into two rounds by last name:

1️⃣Round #1 (5:30 PM – 6:30 PM): Families with last names A–M

2️⃣ Round #2 (6:30 PM – 7:30 PM): Families with last names N–Z

Key Details:
✅ Open House Format: There will be no formal meeting in the gym this year—head straight to the classrooms for an Open House style visit. 😊

✅Special Meet & Greet: Drop by the Library to meet our new Assistant Principal, Jessica Newman!

🛑Kindergarten Families: Kindergarten is not part of tonight's Open House; teachers will meet families individually during student testing.
