We celebrated the United States of America 250 anniversary. We had banana splits and sundaes with any and every topping conceivable. Banana splits where hands down the popular choice. We watched the Patriot starring Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger. We want to thank Moab Diner for donating all the ice cream for our event. They also donated the hot fudge. It was a huge turnout and everyone had a great time. I wished I had more pictures. I appreciate all our seniors for making everything so fun.

August lunch menu. Please contact us at 259-6623 if you would like to share your lunch hour with us. We serve great food. If you are 60+, it is a suggested donation of $2.50. I'm feeling there is no other place to get a balanced nutritional meal for anything close to this amount. Did you know that socialization and nutrition enhance cognitive function?! Yesterday we took a little trip to the Helper Museum. The structure was built in 1914. It was a hotel and a boarding house at one time. There are 4 floors and each floor is steeped in abundance of the rich history of mining and railroad of the area. Roman Vega the museums curator gave us a tour. Every item displayed has been donated. Bel, who is Roman's mom was instrumental in preserving and organizing all the items. Coal mining brought people from 47 countries to the small area. I encourage everyone to visit the museum and find out for yourselves about the diversity, and struggles.
