Today we had a super important and informative presentation and discussion brought to us by Kristy Russell of Aging and adult services Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and Kate Nederostek, head of caregivers support through State of Utah. Department of health and human services. We participated in a simulation of what it might be like to have dementia. We wore big clunky gloves and were asked to perform dexterity related challenges such as buttoning a blouse. We wore goggles with the peripheral blotted out. We wore headphones that had various cacophonous noises in our ears. We were then asked to perform a series of task that were mostly inaudible. It was very sobering to understand how complicated menial tasks can be, especially when our brains no longer interpret or remember how to perform them.

We celebrated the United States of America 250 anniversary. We had banana splits and sundaes with any and every topping conceivable. Banana splits where hands down the popular choice. We watched the Patriot starring Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger. We want to thank Moab Diner for donating all the ice cream for our event. They also donated the hot fudge. It was a huge turnout and everyone had a great time. I wished I had more pictures. I appreciate all our seniors for making everything so fun.
