🎈 A SKY-HIGH THANK YOU! 🎈We are sending a massive thank you to Vanessa McClary and the Kiwanis Club of South Central Indiana! Thanks to their incredible generosity, every single child in our Head Start program at the Loogootee Center received free passes to the Kiwanis Club Hot Air Balloon Festival at West Boggs Park!
Our kids will get to experience unforgettable moments, including:

✨ Magical hot air balloon launches & tethered rides
🎨 Fun kids' crafts & pony rides
🎆 The spectacular Night Glow & fireworks show

In Miss Nikki, Miss Loralye, and Miss Marissa's classroom at the Bedford Head Start Center, the children spent time doing scent painting. They put orange and peppermint scent in the paint. The children did some name tracing and of course no day is complete without some outside bike riding. 🍊🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

The first official Science Thursday on August 13th in Miss Amy, Miss Brittney, and Miss Jaylon's class at the Loogootee Head Start Center was a success! We started off with one small experiment from the Quirkles as we navigate our new schedule, finding the best time to fit our amazing experiments into the day. We decided to use C for "colors!" Our kids had an absolute blast experimenting with capillary action during our rainbow marker paper towel activity! 🌈✨ The children's eyes lit up as they watched water travel upward through the paper towel, bringing the marker colors along for the ride. 💧🎨 This hands-on experiment gave our little scientists a front-row seat to absorption and color mixing as they observed primary colors blend into a bright, beautiful rainbow right before their eyes. 🧪👩🔬We were also able to connect this lesson to the real world, as the kids had explored paintings from Kadinsky earlier in the week and even created some color blending of their own! Every child loved making predictions, dipping their strips, and discovering how science can create magic in our classroom! We cannot wait to perform bigger, brighter, bolder experiments! 🏫❤️

Miss Amy, Miss Brittney, and Miss Jaylon's class at the Loogootee Head Start Center has been jam packed with fun and learning! We are understanding and moving along with our daily routine, making new friends, and learning new social-emotional and kindergarten skills! Most importantly, we are growing together as a school family! We cannot wait to see what this year has to bring, and the leaps and bounds these Bright Beginners will achieve! We love learning, we love Head Start! 😍
