A few weeks ago, our Mitchell Tech nursing students had the opportunity to celebrate Nurses Week in a small but meaningful way by delivering popcorn balls to our clinical sites! 🍿💙
This was our way of saying thank you to the incredible nurses and staff who welcome our students, support their learning, and provide such positive clinical experiences. Your guidance and dedication play a vital role in shaping the future of our LPNs and RNs.
We are so grateful for the partnerships that help our students grow into confident, compassionate nurses. Thank you for all that you do, not just during Nurses Week, but every single day!

Celebrating Our Future Nurses! 🩺✨
To round out Nurses week, last week the Mitchell Tech Nursing Department took a break from the books to celebrate the incredible hard work and dedication of our LPN and RN students.

We filled the day with lunch, laughter, and some amazing door prizes to show our students just how much we appreciate the heart they put into this profession.

A HUGE thank you to our generous local businesses and partners who stepped up to make this celebration so special:

We are bursting with pride for our LPN and RN classes who walked the stage on May 8th. These students have poured so much heart into their education, and they are officially just one semester away from the finish line! 🏥✨

Honoring Our Graduates: The 2026 Eagle Feather Ceremony
Last Thursday, we gathered for the annual Eagle Feather Ceremony here at MTC. This event is a powerful tribute to the resilience, cultural heritage, and academic success of our Indigenous students.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the six outstanding students honored this year, representing the Yankton Sioux, Cheyenne River Sioux, and Oglala Sioux tribes.

Among those recognized were three of our own dedicated nursing students:
Jae’cyn Starr (LPN Program), Andrea Soulek (LPN Program), & Breanna Whirlwind Soldier (RN Program)

The eagle feather is a sacred symbol of high honor, representing the strength and perseverance these students have shown throughout their journey. As Jae’cyn, Andrea, and Breanna transition into their professional nursing careers, they carry with them the pride of their ancestors and the full support of the Mitchell Tech Nursing Department.

Congratulations to all the recipients! We are honored to have been part of your journey.

We are just a few days away from Mitchell Technical College's Class of 2026 graduation!

Mitchell Tech will host three commencement ceremonies at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the World's Only Corn Palace on Mitchell's Main Street. Doors will open one hour before each ceremony. For family members and friends who are unable to attend, a livestream is provided for the three separate ceremonies:
