Thank you to the Waste Into Nutrient Recovery (WINR) Center in Woodbine, IA for asking the MV FFA Chapter to help out with the grand opening! Students helped wrap hamburgers and hot dogs for the meal.

These 8 had a blast at the 98th Iowa FFA State Conference in Ames!

Night 1 was filled with laser tag, mini golf, bowling, and lots of pizza.

Monday the kids took a tour of Iowa State’s campus, attended the 1st general session with our keynote speaker, went to the career fair and spoke with different colleges and businesses. They ended the day with some great food at Hickory Park and the FFA Fun Night and Dance.

Tuesday John Anunson and Bentley Ronk competed in the Greenhand Quiz. Evan Prokupek and Graham Johnson competed in the Discovery Quiz and toured Jack Trice Stadium with Jack Handlos and Bobby Barnard. Finally, Paige Bell and Ava Schoville served as our chapter delegates by taking part in the Business Session and voting for the new State Officer team.

Our 2nd annual Car, Truck, & Tractor Show is Saturday May 9 from 10 to 2 pm at the Harrison County Fairgrounds. We had a great turn out last year but are hoping to have more spectators involved, admiring the vehicles and joining in the yard game fun is free! 221 Grill will be serving lunch on site!
If you are interested in competing, registration will begin at 10 and end at 11:30. A t-shirt and gift bag are included with your registration as a thank you for supporting our chapter. Awards will be called at 1:30. Awards will include: Best of the Decade (20s-90s), Best Stock Car, Best Modified Car, Best Stock Truck, Best Modified Truck, Best Tractor, and Crowd Favorite.
Because this event is a fundraiser for our chapter, to help offset the cost of leadership conferences and educational field trips, we are looking for donors. If you are interested in making a donation or simply just needing more information please contact our advisor, a member, or an officer!
