African American children are under attack! Mass media, the public school system, and their community have mis-educated our children in to believing that they are sub-human and less worthy. Know Thyself Academy provides an African-Centered education which is important for building African American children's self-esteem, through awareness of African & African American culture and contributions. In

troducing African American children to their culture helps alleviate societal mutilation and builds a sense of identity and encourages a healthy self-esteem. Know Thyself Academy is designed to enhance African American children’s knowledge of African and African American culture. Children are taught all aspects of education that the public school may teach but are guided by African Centered principles and practices. We promote academic success and social responsibility, while instilling a sense of cultural identity. The current public school system promotes European culture, history, traditions and values. At Know Thyself Academy we value the culture, history, traditions and values of Africans and other people. At Know Thyself Academy your child can achieve their full potential in a nurturing , supportive environment. Know Thyself Academy is open to everyone who shares the principles and values that guide its mission.

- Only 14% of African American eighth graders score at or above the proficient level. These results reveal that millions of young people cannot understand or evaluate text, provide relevant details, or support inferences about the written documents they read.
