Today they transformed into superheroes and created their very own shield with their own power, which they will use when they reach the challenge zone or feel like they “can’t” do it!

In the Spark room this week we have been focusing on how everyone is different and unique in their own special way! We talk about how all of our teammates learn at different speeds but they are all growing amazing gardens in their brains!! The sparks were given a blank page yesterday with just eyes on it and came up with lots of fun ideas! We put them up in the Spark room and were able to see just how different we all are but how creative we are at the same time!
Today they were given a picture of a “cloud” and were able to transform that cloud into something even more!

Big news from Wildfire: we are officially TEFA approved!!!!

That means eligible Texas families can now use their Texas Education Freedom Account funding toward tuition at Wildfire Academy starting this fall. For many families, TEFA funding can cover most or all of the cost of a Wildfire education.

If you have been quietly wondering whether something different was possible for your child, this is your sign that the door just opened wider than ever before.

Wildfire is a Christian, learner-driven microschool in Missouri City, and part of the Acton Academy network. We serve learners ages 4 to 14 in a place where curiosity actually gets to lead.

If TEFA funding makes Wildfire possible for your family this year, we would love to meet you. Spots are limited and filling for fall.

Six weeks ago, Wildfire dove into marine biology, and today they got to see it all come to life. 🐠

For six weeks the learners studied fish and the ecosystems that hold them together, learned how coral reefs work and why the ocean's balance matters, and even dissected fish to understand what's happening under the surface.

So a capstone field trip to the Aquarium at Moody Gardens was the only way to finish it out. The whole school went together, watching sharks glide overhead and penguins waddle on rocks, pressed against the glass like everything they'd been learning had finally come alive in front of them.

This is what Acton learning looks like. Instead of memorizing facts to forget them later, our learners spend six weeks deep inside a subject, asking real questions and getting their hands in the work, until they can stand in front of the real thing and actually understand it in a way no textbook could ever teach.

Wildfire wasn't just visiting an aquarium today. They were finishing a chapter they wrote themselves.
