Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the enduring spirit of a people who persevered through adversity. As we honor this historic day, we reflect on the sacrifices of those who came before us and recommit ourselves to the values of equality, justice, and opportunity for all. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is precious, progress requires perseverance, and our shared history continues to shape a brighter future. 💜
Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. May we never forget their courage, service, and dedication. Wishing everyone a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day. 🇺🇸
Our chapter is delighted to announce our scholarship recipients, Tamia Boyd and Javieon Killough. A luncheon was held in their honor, and although Javieon and his family were unable to attend, we remain thrilled and proud of our future PV Panthers.💜💛
