The MEF is a 501c3 organization supporting Missoula County Public Schools The MEF is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization established in 2007.

Our purpose is to raise funds and build community support for unique and creative opportunities for teachers and students in the Missoula County Public Schools. We believe that every child deserves a quality education and that the vitality of our community is only as strong as the quality of education its students receive. We all have a stake in ensuring that students in our community experience relevant, innovative and engaging learning experiences.

As another successful grant cycle concludes, we are preparing to welcome our 26/27 Creative Classroom Grantees! This round we had an incredible amount of first-time grant applicants. It is really exciting to be able to connect with more teachers. We are so in awe of our educators and feel so grateful to support their brilliance!

It is our honor to introduce you to this year’s Helen Walterskirchen Neumunz Scholarship for the Student Artist, Big Sky High School’s Chloe Dosier. When the MEF Scholarship Review Committee got goosebumps listening to Chloe’s voice and reading about her connection with music, we knew Helen’s scholarship was for her. Chloe, we cannot wait to see all that you achieve. We are rooting for you!

It is our honor to introduce you to this year’s Beyond Graduation Scholarship recipient, CONNECT Academy’s Leah Glen. When the MEF Scholarship Review Committee read Leah’s essay, we were struck by her undeniable self-determination and persistence. Leah, we cannot wait to see all that you achieve. “Educators move mountains.” That’s the message the MEF Student Board wanted to share with our community. This is the second year that the apple of our eye, aka the Student Board, designed a billboard to promote teacher appreciation. It looks so good! Thank you, for supporting this Student Board’s work. We are so grateful for the opportunities you provide!

Courage, brilliance and wisdom all wrapped up in one gymnasium at Lewis Clark Elementary this evening. The teaching staff, alongside the Missoula Writing Collaborative, crafted such a beautiful celebration of creative writing. Well done, everyone! It is incredibly cup-filling to be able to provide support. 🍏
