I’m extending the Foundations BERNINA V9 software course sale through the end of January.

My courses are available year-round and the value is always there, but this is a great opportunity to jump in at a discount.

I have had several of you ask what to do with the cutwork files that come with a purchased embroidery design — especially OESD collections.

In this video, I show you how to use the included cutwork files and how to create your own cutwork files from the appliqué lines in a purchased design using BERNINA V9 software. I walk through how these files are structured so you can confidently send them to your embroidery machine and stitch them correctly.

You’ll see:
• How to identify cutwork files in a purchased design collection
• What CW or cutwork labels mean
• How placement, tack-down, and cutting lines work
• How to create cutwork files from appliqué lines in the purchased design
• What not to resize or rotate

This is helpful for BERNINA embroidery machine owners and can be useful for other machine embroidery users as well.

I just posted a brand-new tutorial using the BERNINA 990’s scan feature together with the V9 Software! In this video, I show how to scan an appliqué design right on the 990, send it into the software, create custom quilting that fits perfectly, and stitch it out beautifully on the machine.
