A steady 90%+ Acceptance Rate for the last 5 years
Since the Fall of 2013, the University of Montana offers a full Pre-Law Program. The UM Pre-Law Program’s highlights are:
- Intensive and personal prelaw advising
- Prelaw seminar
- Experiential education
- LSAT preparation course
- Application coaching
- Networking opportunities
The UM Pre-Law Program, first of its kind in the West, will allow you to realize your full potential. Through personal advising, mentoring, as well as specific law-related classes, the UM pre-law program will help you become a well-informed and well-prepared applicant to law school. As a pre-law student, you will be encouraged to develop your writing, reading, and analytical skills, as well as gain a deep understanding of how our society functions. You will be inspired to challenge yourself in and out of the classroom, to engage with the world in a theoretical and practical manner, and to get to know yourself and understand your own place and future in this world.
The program has been incredibly successful since its inception in 2013, with a steady acceptance rate to law school above 90%. UM students go on to attend a variety of schools, including of course our own Alexander Blewett III School of Law, but also the University of Oregon, Lewis and Clark, Washington U., U. Colorado, U. Texas, CUNY, the University of Michigan, Chicago, Virginia, Harvard, Berkeley etc.
