Let's S.C.A.M.P.E.R.!
S.C.A.M.P.E.R. is a framework to help teach inventive thinking! For more details on the framework, check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2I4PSdt7_8! Each month, we look at a real-world case study and ask you to use inventive thinking to propose a solution. This month, we visited the MPG Wildlife and the Missoula County Department of Ecology and Extension to learn about Pollinators.

What’s Buzzin’? Pollinators at MPG Wildlife Ranch May 22, 2024
JOIN US FOR A LIVE, VIRTUAL DAY IN THE FIELD WITH POLLINATOR RESEARCHERS ON MAY 22, 2024!
Join in the conversation with pollinator researchers and botanists as they walk through their longitudinal research study protocols in this 45-minute, interactive program. This program is a partnership between the MPG Ranch and the Missoula County Department of Ecology and Extension. Students will:
1. What’s a pollinator?
2. Why do we study pollinators?
3. How do we study pollinators?
4. Have wonders and ask researchers questions in grade groupings.
This event is geared toward elementary and middle school students. We will facilitate age band breakout rooms with the researchers!

Challenges where students will learn brainstorming and decision-making skills AND practice the S.C.A.M.P.E.R. framework to invent something new! In honor of our Live Virtual Visit with RaptorView Research Institute on Feb. 28th, at MPG Wildlife we have a Golden Eagle S.C.A.M.P.E.R. Instant Challenge!

Students in K-12 are invited to participate in this FREE virtual field trip with MPG Wildlife Mountain Lion Trackers for a live Zoom event!
Grades K-12, February, 6th, 2024.
“What is it like to track mountain lions? What skills are required? Have you ever seen a mountain lion?”
Last season, the tracking team found a natal den! Where are the kittens now? Are they still on the ranch? Trackers will answer student questions and provide an update on the family groups at MPG Ranch. Each session will last for about 45 minutes. If necessary, students will be placed into breakout rooms for age-appropriate Q&A!
