University of Montana Pharmacy School The Skaggs School of Pharmacy was established in 1907 at Montana State College and was transferred to the University of Montana in Missoula in 1913.

Welcome to the University of Montana Beverly!

She’s a first year GrizRx Assurance Program student. Beverly is our featured student this week.

• Why UM? I chose University of Montana because the beautiful campus reminded me so much of my home in Colorado. They also have a really great pharmacy program and so many opportunities for me, which made choosing UM so easy!

• Why pharmacy? I chose pharmacy because, since I was a kid, I’ve always been interested in the healthcare field. I’ve always wanted to help people in some way, and I feel that pharmacy plays such an important role in healthcare. I’m also really interested in learning more about how medications affect patients and their everyday lives.

• What are you looking forward to doing around Missoula or Montana? I’m looking forward to exploring Missoula, Montana and also attending the football games!

Welcome to the University of Montana Logan!

He’s a first year GrizRx Assurance Program student. Logan is our featured student this week.

• Why UM? Firstly, I enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, and fishing, so UM is the place to be. Aside from my hobbies, the class size and highly regarded staff and campus life really drew me in!

• Why pharmacy? After graduating pharmacy school, I will be a 6th generation pharmacist in my family and I plan to work at my family's business that we started in 1896! I am highly interested in chemistry, microbiology, and human anatomy and physiology, and I love being with my family, so pharmacy was the best choice for me!

• What are you looking forward to doing around Missoula or Montana? I look forward to going backpacking, fishing, skiing, and exploring the awesome city around the campus!

Welcome to the University of Montana Kylah!

She’s a first year GrizRx Assurance Program student. Kylah is our featured student this week.

• Why UM? I chose UM because I truly believe this is where I am meant to be, and I know I can achieve things I didn’t know I could do here. From the incredible research, my peers pushing me to every instructor being in my corner. This is the perfect place for me, and I can't wait to see what UM has in store for me!

• Why pharmacy? I chose pharmacy because I want to have a career where I can truly help others. I have always wanted to have a future in the medical field, and when the GrizRx Assurance Program accepted me, I knew it was a sign. I love to help others and combined with my love for science and deep thinking, this was the best career option for me!

• What are you looking forward to doing around Missoula or Montana? I am looking forward to getting to experience a new side of Montana! I am really looking forward to meeting new friends, exploring, and trying new things!

Welcome to the University of Montana Syndicate!

• Why UM? I chose UM mostly because of the people here. I was born here, and lived here until I was about 6. Since then I have moved around in Montana and Colorado: but I still think Missoula is one of the best communities for learning and being social.

• Why pharmacy? I like pharmacy mostly because some of my old teachers recommended it to me, but I have fallen in love with the idea of helping people through medicine.

• What are you looking forward to doing around Missoula or Montana? I'm looking forward to all the downtown events here in Missoula!

Welcome to the University of Montana Sidney!

She’s a first year GrizRx Assurance Program student. Sidney is our featured student this week.

• Why UM? I chose UM mainly because of the location, being close to home and in beautiful Montana, and also because it is the only pharmacy school in MT!

• Why pharmacy? I chose to study pharmacy mainly because I want to make an impact on people through my work and I believe that I can do that in pharmacy, even if it's as simple as making someone smile. Also, because I am very interested in how medicine works and affects everyone in their day-to-day lives. I am eager to see what all I can learn and do as a pharmacist and through my journey becoming one.

• What are you looking forward to doing around Missoula or Montana? I am looking forward to learning my way around Missoula and making friends!
