My children and I share a strong bond that has been there from the start. Some misinterpret our closeness as coddling and insecurity, but it’s quite the contrary. When a child feels securely attached, they become more confident. Guided by love, they learn to give love in return. Attachment nurtures self-control, affection, self-esteem, empathy, and independence.

So, when a child reaches out for your hand or meets your gaze, don’t misinterpret it as insecurity. Rather, recognize it as a testament to their inner strength, affirming their deep-seated knowledge that they are loved and supported.
