Native American Center of Excellence Pathways to Pharm.D. summer program alum, Rolonda Slim, spoke to AACP about her experience during the program, what she learned about the impact of rural pharmacy and healthcare on Native American reservations, and her individual research on medicinal medicine.

The Pathways to Pharm.D. summer program is a 4-week program at the University of Montana Skaggs School of Pharmacy and is open to any Indigenous student accepted into any Pharmacy school.

From the University of Montana Pharmacy School, and Rolonda Slim, Pharm.D. candidate at the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy:

"This past summer, I was invited to attend a month-long summer program at the University of Montana that explored the impact of rural pharmacy and healthcare on Native American reservations. The Pathway to Pharm.D. (P2PD) program broadened my understanding of how professional pharmacy practices can address health disparities and promote health equity in rural and indigenous areas."
