Congratulations to Maren Davies, recipient of the first-ever Jeannie Award and the winner of the Jeannette Rankin Contest! We thank Missoula Mayor Andrea Davis for joining us at the award ceremony at Jeannette Rankin Elementary to celebrate all the fifth graders who participated in the inaugural contest and to honor Jeannette Rankin's legacy. And thank you to the for the front-page coverage!

All 5th grade students at JRE took part in the inaugural Jeannette Rankin Foundation Contest. Student had the choice between writing an essay, creating art with an explanation, or producing an interpretation. Six overall winners were selected, and one student took home the grand prize. Congratulation Maren Davies!

We are PROUD of all students for their efforts and thoughtful response to Jeannette's impact.

YMCA Riverbank Run- NEEDS YOUR HELP.

The YMCA Riverbank Run is an annual fundraiser for the Missoula Family YMCA. All proceeds stay right here in Missoula and benefit our financial assistance program. 2,500+ racers of all ages are expected to join us on race day, Saturday, April 25.

Safety is our top priority and we rely on volunteers to help keep the course safe for racers! Race volunteers are needed on race day (April 25, 2026) to direct traffic and cheer on racers. This one-day volunteer opportunity is perfect for individuals, students, community groups, and businesses wanting to give back to their community. All volunteers will need to attend a mandatory 30-minute volunteer orientation on race day prior to the start of their shift.

At a Glance:

This is a one-day opportunity on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
There will be a mandatory 30-minute volunteer orientation on race day (April 25) at the YMCA. Stop by between 7:30–8:15 a.m. to complete your orientation and receive your specific location.
All volunteers should plan to be at their stations from 8:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m. There are a limited number of shorter volunteer shifts available.

Don't forget to join us tomorrow night from 5:30-7:00. The building will be open for viewing, along with music solos, SpectrUM, and vendors. We can't wait to see you!
