🌿 Update From Our MPI - Cold Springs Community 🌿

Many friends have been checking in about the sudden closure of part of the Cold Springs building last week, so we wanted to share an update.

When the west wing — where our classrooms were located — was suddenly closed due to a structural issue on Nov. 7, we didn’t panic. After the initial surprise, we accepted the situation as it was and focused our energy on problem solving right away. It became a weekend filled with emergency care planning, clear communication, quick decisions, and a lot of action. We knew we would figure out one way or another how to take care of the families and children we deeply care about.

Long story short, thanks to incredible teamwork and immense community support, we were able to transition into a safe, unaffected space at Cold Springs and reopen for childcare on Monday morning without missing a single day of service.

✨ All families who needed care still have care.
✨ All teachers kept their jobs.
✨ Children are safe, settled, and doing great.

This was only possible because of the unwavering support from our licensor, Missoula Child Care Advantage (MCCA), and Missoula County Public Schools (MCPS). Their genuine care and quick responses offered us so much reassurance as we worked through an unexpected situation with many uncertainties and moving pieces. And we are so grateful to the many parent and staff volunteers who showed up—with very little notice—to clean, move furniture, and help set up our new temporary space.

Although it began as a crisis, we had a positive experience filled with love, flexibility, resilience, teamwork, and true community care. We are proud of the positive, caring, strong school community we’ve built, and we are deeply grateful for the support we received from all sides.

We are doing well — truly well — and filled with gratitude.

Exciting News!

Our Primary Classroom at Cold Springs is ready to welcome new friends!

This beautifully prepared space is designed for children ages 3–6 and offers a nurturing, engaging environment where independence, curiosity, and connection thrive.

Children must be able to use the potty comfortably and independently.

We are currently accepting students, and enrollment is open for both the school year and our summer program!

A huge shoutout to Missoula Fire Station for an unforgettable field trip - it happened in December but we just found time to post pictures here. The children were in awe of the fire trucks, gear, and—of course—the ladder reaching high into the sky! Seeing it in action was pure magic. We are beyond thankful for our firefighters and the essential service they provide to our community. We love and appreciate you!

And here’s a sneak peek at our newest classroom at MPI-Cold Springs. It’s still coming together, but the space is truly taking shape. We can’t wait to welcome families when our new program launches in April! We are so grateful for all the kindness, enthusiasm, and support we’ve received while working on this project! ❤️ Every encouraging word, generous donation, and supportive consideration has meant so much. Thank you all! We can’t wait to share this new space with our community soon!

HB360 had its hearing in House Human Services today.
For almost an hour and a half, over 30 people shared their stories and called on the committee to invest in the workforce behind the workforce.

We are also deeply thankful for the broader Missoula community! 💛 A special shoutout to Mountain Line and Pacific Steel & Recycling, who welcomed our little explorers for engaging and educational field trips, to Missoula Fire Station, which we look forward to visiting soon for another exciting adventure, and to the incredible team at Animal Wonders for regularly visiting us with their amazing animals, sparking curiosity and wonder in our children! 🐾🐢

Our school has been invited by the Western Montana Fair to showcase Chinese culture today (August 10, Saturday) from 1-2 pm. We will be located in the historic plaza under the blue umbrellas. If you are at the fair, stop by and say hi!

During the spring break, our classroom was totally redesigned/rearranged to better support the individual needs of the children. Seeing how children interact with this environment is so rewarding! It is worth all the time and effort put in it!

We're thrilled to announce our expansion to the Missoula Child Care Advantage (MCCA) Cold Springs pilot site! We're eager to provide top-notch early childhood education services to more families in Missoula at this new location. We've been working hard setting up this new program for kids 0-5 and can't wait to start serving you in just 2-3 weeks!
