Come one, come all to the University of Montana's Circus Club fundraising & organizing campaign kickoff party tonight!
We've been organizing to re-structure our club to better match the needs of our own members and the wider community to focus on creating a fully accessible environment of support and inclusivity, via circus arts! (Aka Social Circus).
But we need YOU to make it all happen before this Friday's ASUM deadline, so we can run everything lined up for the summer season and start off Fall semester bigger and better than ever!
So show up to the kickoff party tonight to enjoy various circus activities/apparatuses and jam out (firepit and flow starting later), grab some free grub, and learn how you can sign-up to help us make this week's fundraising campaign a success!
Also, be sure to vote in UMCC's *Circus Spending Spree* shopping list poll, so we can use up our budget this week toward what participating members want to prioritize for this Summer and coming Fall! We'll be taking votes on other preliminary decision-making needs for the coming year as well.
๏ปฟ(Early birds who come in-person get a shot at these opportunities before the public links go live ๐)
Tonight's event is from 8pm-10pm at Haustoria House (1114 Vine St. - if parking on Vine just come through to the backyard and workshop space!)
Spread the word and stop by if you can!
And yes, we know this is last-minute, but that's why we're rushing to fill spots on our Circus Council and fill our sign-ups for volunteer needs throughout this week!
So we're having a party, jamming, and ensuring we do our best to make your voice heard, spend our budget before the deadline, and get folx signed-up to volunteer to make this week of fundraising & organizing events (leading up to a very special PRIDE event) a rousing success!
Thus we also want to give a huge shout-out to our newest Circus Council member and "announcer" (PR) Morgan Davis for making this all possible! - be sure to check out the brand-new mission statement* they've been working on to better capture what our organization is all about!
(One of the many things we'll be gathering feedback on during tonight's event and throughout the week).

*UMCC dives into the world of circus as not just an art form, but a culture, and invites people from every background to learn!
We offer knowledge-in-practice about circus arts as well as social circus services and community support, a place to train, learn skills, and engage in individual-and-community performance, space for physical design and craft workshopping, and an agenda to collaborate and build community through circus with focus on YOUR local passions and needs!

Join us for our intro meet-up today 1-2:30 at Schreiber Gym, and/or reach out to get involved with a BIG community organizing event this weekend!
(Weekend event details can be found in the flyer below)
This will be the best opportunity to get involved in one of many community-driven projects, initiatives, and programs that our group and others in Missoula have been putting together for the Summer and beyond!
From kid's summer programs, Social Circus Services, and professional performance troupe gigs; to a collective housing and community center for mixed traditional practice & arts, gender inclusive lifting & self defense training group, community garden, and multipurpose workshop space - we'll have tons of opportunities for folx to support *many* local projects, programs, and businesses, and/or get involved directly!
Reach out if you'd like to volunteer, collaborate, or have us represent something of your own- we'll be collecting as many signatures and sign-up interest as possible over this 2-day event!
Or, if you just feel like stopping by to check out the garage sale, a % of proceeds will be donated to Circus Club and other groups/initiatives participating in this event.
So spread the word, and we hope to see y'all this weekend!!!

Come one, come all! ๐ช๐คธโโ๏ธ๐คนโโ๏ธ๐ญ๐ฉ๐ชโ๏ธ๐ฎ
We will (finally ๐
) be hosting two meetings/"soft practices" at Schreiber gym (southeast corner of campus) today and tomorrow-
Thursday 5:30-7:30pm
Friday 1-2:30pm
And big thanks to all who chimed in about availability! For now we'll be trying these times out, and if they work for most folx we'll reserve the same times for next week. If other times on Thurs/Fri would work better though, please let us know!
We'll be determining a *bunch* of particulars for the coming season at the meetings this week, but welcome input from anyone unable to attend, so long as it is sent in before Monday the 20th.
These first meetings will focus on basics, membership forms, intro activities/exercises and organizing, as well as filling leadership positions we have open on our Circus Council. And based on attendees' availability and interest, hopefully be able to schedule at least 2 safety training options ASAP for aerials and other specialized higher-risk activities, acts, & art forms we provide ๐
Of course we'll still be running our usual warm-ups and group activities/shenanigans until then- so remember to bring water and comfy clothes you can move in!
(And feel free to reach out privately if you have any questions or concerns, you can message or email [email protected])
See you there!๐

Howdy folx!
We are *finally* getting back in action (bureaucratic hoops have been successfully jumped through as of yesterday, huzzah!).
So: who here is around (between now and Fall 2024, even if not continuously), interested, and would like to be sent a poll re: general availability and the best times to run practices for the rest of Spring and into Summer?
We've got some exciting things ahead, big opportunities, and as usual a whole bunch of shenanigans planned, but the first step is always figuring out practice and meeting times that best fit with folx' schedules ๐
Stay tuned for more! ๐ช๐คนโโ๏ธ๐๐คธโโ๏ธ๐

Hello to all our friends out here! We apologize but we are canceling practice tomorrow. This is due to some issues with our allotted space for the summer. We are confident in getting this figured out but may have some updated times and days of practice for the summer, so stay tuned and we will let you all know!

We're still working on getting things together (bigger and better than ever!) toward a weekly circus "newsletter" and more online engagement. But meantime, we've been running practices and gearing up for an especially exciting Showcase project, new professional community collaborative workshops & jams, and would love to see more of y'all each week!
Check out the flyer below for overall info/offerings, and stay tuned for more announcements and workshops/events we'll be offering throughout the Summer and into Fall 2023!

Hey Circus people, for those of you looking to participate in our activities, we all are required to participate in a safety workshop first, just to make sure we all stay safe in everything we do! This safety meeting is required for us to do aerials, so if you are not able to attend we can not clear you to do any aerials until we do another. We are going to be holding this meeting this Sunday during our normal 2-5pm practice and its a super important meeting since it allows us all to do all of the fun things that circus club brings! So everyone that can show up, please do, it will be fun as well as informative. If you need more information check your grizhub account.
