Thanks to this year’s outstanding senior in French, Jacqueline Collver, for delivering the student address at our spring 2026 graduation celebration. Congrats to both Jacqueline and to Fiona Doyle, this year’s graduating majors in French, and to all our WLC graduates!

More from our in-person World Languages Day on Wednesday. Caroline Lonski’s Spanish 102 class covering “se” constructions, Kevin Mulholland and Naoki Machida on ordering food at a Japanese restaurant, Ona Renner-Fahey (Russian) presenting on Slavic folklore, UM students and visiting high schoolers working together in Anna Lokowich’s French 102 class, and the Mansfield Center’s Liz Barr at the WLD session highlighting international education opportunities featuring the Mansfield Center, Global Engagement Office, GLI, and Office of External Scholarships and Fellowships. A full day of fun and discovery this year thanks to our visitors, and the creative work and engagement of our teachers and presenters!

Sara and Harley here - among the many awesome WLC student volunteers who helped greet and guide our visiting high schoolers for World Languages Day on Wednesday. Thanks too to our students who offered presentations in their classes, about UM language clubs, and on experiential learning opportunities in language facilitated by the department. We appreciate you!

Glacier HS teachers Brooke Gardner (German, Spanish) and Stephanie Hill (French) during lunch break in the midst of all the goings on at World Languages Day on Wednesday. Thanks to *all* the teachers who brought their students from seven high schools from around the state and for all the work and organization put into making your journeys to UM and experiences on campus another joy this year!
