Aloha,
Please consider donating to the Pasifika Initiative. We were honored to be part of the amazing work that has been nurtured by all of these lovely QTPI’s
As we continue to celebrate NHPI Heritage Month, help us reach our fundraising goal of $5,000! Any contribution is impactful and will ensure that we are continuing to support our QTPIʻs across Washington State through our programs like MANA Youth, where we not only support Q***r and Trans youth, but empower them to be leaders within their own communities and schools.

Pictured: The Pasifika Village Initiative at the annual Creating Change conference. This day-long institute was the first Pasifika centered institute in the history of the conference. It brought together Q***r and Trans Pacific Islanders from across the globe where we were able to exchange cultural practices, build our collective power, and create a stronger woven network across Oceania.

For the sake of transparency, below is a copy of our public statement made during ASUM’s senate meeting.
The Associated Students of the University of Montana barred a student group from traveling for the rest of the semester after the group failed to file pre-trip risk paperwork with the Senate. UTOPIA Montana was traveling from Northwest Washington when they hit a moose. Injuries were kept to a minimum, but not having risk paperwork on file has put ASUM at risk of sanctions of their own from the University.

The wait is finally over. UTOPIA has been working with the University of Montana Pacific Islanders Club and PICA-MT on how we can support our ʻohana on Maui that has been affected by the wildfire disaster on August 8, 2023. We are saddened by the many lives lost in what is called the deadliest fire disaster in the U.S. within the last 100 years. Fires ravaged through Lāhainā where many families had no time to escape. After receiving many text, phone calls, emails, and DM’s, we’ve decided to do a t-shirt and hoodie fundraiser with 100% of the proceeds going directly to families who’ve lost everything.
If you would like to support, please purchase a shirt, hoodie, or purchase a few for your family and friends.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call (406) 243-2636 or email [email protected]

“Lisa, and many of the characters in Inky Pinky Ponky are so close to my heart. Their moments and storylines, good and bad, are inspired by my own experiences, and also those of my trans sisters.” — Amanaki Prescott-Faletau.
