Missoula community! Currently your city council has four co-sponsors (a third of the 12 person council) for the Decriminalize Nature Resolution, and another one or two council members who have expressed support. This means that we are almost certain to have a successful vote on this issue, IF we can help insure there are 7 certain votes in favor of this resolution.
So, if you have ever wanted to help make this happen, now is the time! Please, let the Council know that you would like them to put the proposal back on the agenda, AND to vote for the adoption of the Resolution.
If you reside in the Missoula, contact your district’s Council members specifically, but don’t hesitate to let the whole council know how much you support the proposal!

Portland, Maine passes legislation to decriminalize entheogens just 2 weeks ago.
Why can't Missoula, Montana be on the growing list of those leading the way by joining the more than a dozen other cities in the United States that have already decriminalized psychedelic botanicals?
Maybe its time again to ask our city council, our candidates for mayor and council-- why don't we acknowledge that this is a health and human rights issue that we are talking about here?
Why doesn't Missoula City, support community education, risk reduction and concern for wellbeing of individuals and community members?
Does the city and county really want to investigate or arrest people for cultivation, use or sharing of psychedelic plants and fungi? Especially when that use is in safe, supported, and sacred contexts?
Maine's Biggest City Advances Proposal To Decriminalize Psychedelic Plants And Fungi - Ma*****na Moment
A City Council committee in Portland, Maine, unanimously advanced a resolution last week that advocates say would decriminalize certain psychedelic plants and fungi. The measure is now on track for a full council vote as soon as mid-October. The Health and Human Services and Public Safety Committee,...

For some, dressing up like a mushroom for the first time,
may be as intimidating as well, eating mushrooms for first time.
Thats what community is for!
There are those out there that are, "experienced", and with a little help from our friends we can all join in the fun of a safe and expansive adventure together!
You are cordially invited to join in an afternoon of fun, education, community building and political advocacy.
Decriminalize Nature Montana is hosting a coalition of Missoula and Montana citizens, organizations, concerned activists, and distinguished professionals and educators, SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29th 1- 6PM at Freecylces.
The theme of our afternoon is "Entheogenic Allies".
One way of costuming for this theme is dressing up like one (or more) of our 4 primary entheogenic policy plants and fungi – Psilocybin containing mushrooms, mescaline containing cacti, DMT containing plants, and ibogaine containing plants. Know your plant(s) or fungi(s)!
(Know also that well loved, and un-criminalized allies, like amanita, datura, or ergot, etc. will NOT be turned away!
A second layer of costuming is to portray some of the associated characteristics (or perhaps notable characters) of particular entheogenic experiences, within their appropriate contexts.
Sometimes, with costumes as with mushrooms, things can get a little weird. Thats okay!
Here are some ideas for how you might go about costuming yourself as one of our mush-loved allies.
While you prepare your costume, be sure to educate yourself on the traits and characteristics of your fungal ally or allies!
We recommend knowing 3 facts about your costumes inspiration-- for accuracy and icebreaking!
Facts of any and all kinds of facts (examples include: physical characteristics, history of use, ecological considerations, botanical characteristics, chemistry, processing, spiritual, psychological, physiological effects, etc.)
Costumes (Highly) Encouraged. Its a Potluck, so bring a dish-
join with allies, have fun, meet folks, show support, get involved with the cause, and share in building coalitions for local and state-wide community-based healing initiatives!

Costume parties can be a lot of fun, and they don’t need to be a lot of stress.
There are many different ways to approach costuming, and the same is true of our theme of “Entheogenic Allies”.
The most direct approach is educational expression: Dressing up like one (or more) of our 4 primary entheogenic policy plants and fungi – Psilocybin containing mushrooms, mescaline containing cacti, DMT containing plants, and ibogaine containing plants. Know your plant(s) or fungi(s)!
(Know also, that other, appropriate [and not criminalized] allies, like amanita muscaria, datura, or ergot, etc. will NOT be turned away!)
A second layer is to portray some of the associated characteristics (or perhaps notable characters) of particular entheogenic experiences, within their appropriate contexts– think “The self-transforming machine elves that are singing in a hyperdimensional language.” – for Terence McKenna, and his experiences of a DMT journey!
Whatever level of approach you desire, the ex*****on does not have to be expensive, elaborate, or showy (it certainly CAN be) – but do try to make it accurate! Look at the details of your plant or fun-guy –the botanical, biological, psycho-spiritual, and entheogenic details-- and then apply your own particular character and aesthetic choices. (fairy-plant-spirit, anyone?)
Check out these examples. These generic cacti costumes (not our particular allies), but with individualized details and styles, they can can make unique, fun and highly-informative costumes!
