Who cares for the caregivers? – The Pulp Montana child care workers who can't afford care for their own kids are about to lose the federal subsidy that made their jobs possible — and Gov. Gianforte already vetoed the fix.

We're in the news again, advocating for the rights of our valued teachers to have affordable childcare.

As MT child care industry continues to struggle, a program proven to help comes to an end Some workers with their own kids in day care will soon face a choice: pony up the cash to cover staggering increases to tuition payments or cut back on work.

HB456 Passed the Senate today!! Thank you parents and alums. We're so happy and grateful for all your support getting the Best Beginnings Bill for Childcare workers over the finish line!! This is such huge support for our program and especially for our teachers who have their own kids in care!! It is also hugely stabilizing for our program in these very uncertain times. All of our teachers regardless of family income will qualify to have their kids on the Best Beginnings Scholarships. Thank you for your advocacy and support of our teachers. I'll let you know when I know about the Governor's signing. He is fully expected to do it, since there was bipartisan support in both the House and Senate. Big win for democracy and the power of our voices...we literally took it from a tabled (dead) bill and made them vote on it and showered them with our support. Critical childcare legislation being heard this week in the Montana State Legislature. I'm advocating, as if my pants were on fire...they are. One bill requires that childcare providers must speak, read and write English. If you know anything about what I've been up to in the past 5 years...speaking or reading English is not a requirement to being an awesome, loving, high quality childcare provider!! I know a whole lot of families that would agree! Another Bill would critically provide more Best Beginnings Scholarships to provide for more families in need. Help us out by advocating!
