Last week our MSU chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers went to Detroit, MI to compete at the international level in the Sandbox Competition. This competition involved creating a comprehensive transportation plan for the University of Michigan at Dearborn. After presenting the design, our team placed second overall!

This competition taught our students the importance of planning transportation systems for all users to fit the context and needs of the community. The chance to communicate this design in a report and a presentation further honed skills necessary in a rapidly developing workforce.
