Congrats on making it to the end of the semester!

This week we capped off the semester with an Army v Air Force PT competition. We are thrilled to say we dominated Army in dodge ball! Despite our victory in that sport, we unfortunately will have to wait till next year to take home the trophy. Congrats Army!

On Thursday, we ended the semester officially with our semester awards ceremony and a change of command. The next “Wing King” is C/Col John Bowman! The future is looking bright under his command, and we wish him the best of luck.

We also would like to thank our out-going Wing Commander, C/Col Tyler Brown for his leadership this semester!

This weekend, our cadets hosted a four hour GLP in order to better simulate the kind of tasks and efficiency they will most likely see at this upcoming Field Training. Thank you to C/Copeland, C/Brewer, and C/Castaneda for helping make this a reality!

As we begin to wind down the semester at Detachment 425, we began our week with height and weight and the Physical Fitness Assessment for all cadets this week. Luckily, for us, and for our scores, we’re still on the old system until next semester!

On Thursday, we had the privilege of inviting several officers and enlisted from across the region to be present for our career day! For LLAB, cadets had the privilege of getting firsthand information about what the real Air Force looks like, being able to ask about the day-to-day lives, tasks, and other interesting information about multiple AFSCs. We are grateful for all who attended, and we hope to see them again for our potential career day next year!

Happy Friday Det 425!

This week we spend our PT time enjoying the warmer weather, starting at the track all week and savoring the crisp, comfortable weather until the heat gets turned up down here in Mississippi!

For Leadership Lab, our cadets were briefed on this year’s Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings NATCON, followed by competing against one another in a war game GLP coded in it’s entirety by C/Timmons! The war game consisted of targeting and shrinking each other in an all out battle. Many an alliance was made, tested, and broken in the span of an hour.

We ended off LLab with the contracting of four new scholarship recipients, C/Kirkendall, C/Reed, C/Gilkerson, and C/Vo. We are so excited for them!
