AEF OPORD Complete!

At Tuesday PT, cadets went to the Mississippi State North Farm to complete a long buddy-run. These North Farm runs are a detachment favorite, as cadets get to workout in an unconventional setting while watching the sun rise. On Wednesday morning, cadets completed an abdominal circuit on the track, mixing in various calisthenics and cardio exercises.

At LLAB, cadets revisited North Farm to complete AEF (Air Expeditionary Force) objectives. Junior cadets were taught the basics of TCCC (MARCH, tourniquet application, Medevac 9-line), unit formations (360deg perimeter, fi***rm control), IED/UXO (Improvised Explosive Device/Unexploded Ordinance) procedures, and base defense (sign-counter sign, active shooter) by senior cadets.

SUMMER ODT SPOTLIGHT

C/Adcox participated in the four-day Field Training Cadet Training Officer Course, a field training follow-on program designed to strengthen cadets’ ability to lead, teach, and train others at their detachments.

Through instruction in leadership, drill and ceremony, lesson planning, teaching techniques, feedback, and evaluation, cadets gained the tools needed to deliver effective and consistent training back at their own detachments.

We are proud to see our cadets developing as leaders and future officers!

Week 6 in the books!

This week at LLAB, cadets rotated between various GLP stations on the Drill Field, some of which consisted of marching and other that consisted of problem solving. With over a third of the semester complete, cadets are expected to be proficient at basic marching techniques, even the brand new cadets. As time moves on, they will only improve upon their marching abilities until they are A CUT ABOVE!

At PT, cadets completed a short workout circuit and finished off with a relay race. Congrats to Delta Flight for winning the first PT competition of the semester!

Finally, cadets hosted multiple D&C practice and GLP practice sessions to improve upon the critical skills we train in AFROTC. By the end of the semester, leadership is able to tell who has been going to these non-mandatory practice sessions and who hasn’t, as it shows in their performance at LLAB.

Week 5 complete!

This week at LLAB, cadets started with building entry procedures, and then spent the majority of the rest of LLAB rotating between various GLPs. At the end of LLAB, wing leadership presented awards to various cadets for their outstanding achievements so far this semester!

At Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday PT, cadets completed a calisthenics circuit, a push-up and crunch pyramid workout, and an interval run workout.

Cadets were also hard at work at multiple D&C practices this week. To wrap up the week, the GMC cadets held a karaoke game night to boost GMC morale in the Detachment.

Today the United States Air Force turns 79! Over 3/4 of a century of unmatched air and space superiority!

To take part in the time-honored tradition, the oldest and youngest cadets in the 425th cadet wing cut the birthday cake using the Detachment sword while the rest of the wing sang the Air Force Song!
