Greetings, supporters! We, at Eagle Battalion, would like to thank everyone for their time and support. We could never have gotten this far without all of the support we have received from each and every one of you.

We would like to thank our friends, family, servicemen and women, veterans, and other JROTC programs and affiliates.
We thank you now and offer this piece of news:

The Mission High School Junior ROTC program will remain!

That’s right! Eagle Battalion will stay at Mission High School! However, we need to get our numbers back up and get two instructors hired; otherwise all of our efforts will have been for naught. We are currently at 52 cadets and need to reach the 100 mark.

We will be having a recruiting drive at Mission High School on this upcoming Friday, August 16.

As it has been made clear by us and others, Junior ROTC is a family—no matter what branch or school. So, we at Eagle Battalion, would like to turn the attention to Zapata High School: home of yet another troubled Junior ROTC program. This program faces closure as well, and we do not want them to close down. We strongly support Zapata High School, and so do a few others, but they are in a remote area and have not been able to garner as much attention as our Eagle Battalion has.

We have not been able to make contact with the Zapata Junior ROTC, but we would like to make it clear that we support them completely. If anyone can help us contact the Zapata JROTC, please inbox me or leave the information in a comment below.

Please spread it around that Mission High School is in dire need of Junior ROTC instructors and our program has been saved—and will remain that way so long as we can get the instructors hired and get our cadet numbers up to 100.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone for their spectacular support in this endeavor!

Hoo-ah!

Comments: I'm the former SAI at VMHS. Sad to hear about the closing of the program. It's worth saving, but you need to get parents to change the culture at the district, it's not the kids lack of support or enthusiasm that led to this.

Comments: My name is Rick, and i was a cadet 1st sergeant in the m.c.j.r.o.t.c. program here in grants, new mexico. I joined the program my freshman year and went through all four years in j.r.o.t.c. it was a positive experience for myself and others. For once, i felt like i belonged somewhere. Taking away an r.o.t.c. program is wrong. You're taking away opportunities and potential from our youth by doing so. Ive seen many cadets have a positive experience in r.o.t.c. And it also impacts the community. Help these kids out. Do not take away their j.r.o.t.c. program
