Fun of Learning Montessori

In our Practical Life area, we have activities like peeling eggs and juicing oranges. The children learn how to peel the eggs, press the juice, serve it to their classmates, and remember to leave one for themselves. These activities help develop independence, coordination, and a sense of care for others.

Kindness is one of the core pillars of Montessori education, and we believe February is a wonderful time to intentionally focus on friendship, compassion, and caring for others.
Although we practice and talk about kindness every day in our classroom, February gives us a special opportunity to highlight these values in a more meaningful and memorable way.

Why Mud Day Matters in Montessori 🌱
In the Montessori philosophy, mud play is purposeful work—not just messy fun. Through hands-on exploration, children refine their senses, develop early math and science concepts, and build deep concentration. Mud offers open-ended experiences that strengthen independence, creativity, and problem-solving while fostering a natural connection to the earth. Practical life skills like pouring, transferring, and cleaning up are woven into the experience, supporting care of self and care of the environment.

What looks like play is actually meaningful learning—hands, mind, and heart working together. ♥️
