ALL TRIBAL PROGRAMS & INDIVIDUALS

The RST Child Care Program invites all RST Tribal Programs to participate in our upcoming Youth Parade!

Theme: “You Got a Friend in Me”
Date: Thursday, August 27, 2026
Line-Up: 9:00 AM
Parade Starts: 11:00 AM

We encourage Tribal Programs to get creative, build a float, and come out to support our youth and community!

Administrative Leave Incentives
Participation:
All RST Tribal Programs that create and enter a float will receive 2 hours of administrative leave, subject to the discretion and approval of each Program Director.

Parade Contest Winners:

1st Place: 8 hours administrative leave
2nd Place: 6 hours administrative leave
3rd Place: 4 hours administrative leave
Non-Tribal Programs: Cash prizes will be awarded instead of administrative leave:
1st – $300 | 2nd – $200 | 3rd – $100

Come have some fun, show your program pride, and most importantly, come out and support our youth!

Attached is the letter signed granting admin leave: use this when requesting leave, childcare will supply you a list of all Tribal Programs that entered a float as proof of participation.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Butch Felix. His legacy as a Eyapaha and his dedicated 16 years with RST Youth Childcare have left an indelible mark on our community. Butch was an incredible man whose impact on the program and the youth was immeasurable.

His warmth, humor, and wisdom touched the lives of so many, and he was always there to lend a hand when needed. Butch shared not only his knowledge but also his laughter, bringing joy to countless gatherings.

As we mourn his loss, we will also celebrate the rich legacy he has left behind—a testament to his commitment to uplifting others. Our hearts go out to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in all of us

We are cancelling the two-day powwow, and we are dedicating our one-day powwow to Butch "Everette" Felix Sr. as he served as our Eyapaha for 16 years.

As Rosebud Fair starts setting up for this weekend, we want to pop in and say: Happy Market Day!!

We're still setting up for the Mission Market today, as well as preparing for the market this weekend at Rosebud Fair (and thank you all for your overwhelming enthusiasm for the Rosebud Market this weekend! 🫶).

Here are the vendors who will be setting up at the market today in Mission! Plenty of homebaked, homegrown, and home canned goods available!! Come see what all is available as we get closer and closer to the fall 🥒 🫑 🌿 🍅

We are proud to honor 138 graduates receiving their diplomas, including 9 GED graduates. SGU Interim President, Dr. Margaret Ross, shared, "It's the largest graduating class in SGU history!"

👶🚸 The Sinte Gleska University Child Care Center is now open for enrollment! We are dedicated to providing a safe and creative learning environment where your child(ren) can thrive. We offer full-time care, Monday through Friday, 8-4:30 pm, for SGU students and staff. Please note that childcare is free for students, who also receive first priority for placement. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please contact our Child Care Center Director, Jordan Delgarito, at (605) 856-8198. Our Assistant Child Care Aide is Mariah Jones.
The Child Care Center is located on the Main Campus, (behind the campus greenhouse and the Institute of Technologies building), E. Hwy 18, Mission, SD. 👧🧒
