Now that school is underway and we’re settling into the new routine, we wanted to remind everyone that Rushton is registered with the Box Tops for Education Program!

To get started, simply scan the QR code and download the Box Tops app. And be sure to spread the word! Send it to grandparents, aunts and uncles, neighbors, friends and anyone else who might want to help support Rushton while they shop! Our school will receive 50 bonus Box Tops for every friend you refer.

You might also be surprised by how many brands participate now, including Annie’s, Betty Crocker, Nature Valley, Go-Gurt, Old El Paso and so many more. Be sure to check out the September Monthly Bonus Offers we’ve attached to see what extra Box Tops you can earn!

Our goal is to earn $500 for Rushton this school year, and we’re already at $55.90! You can follow along with our progress right in the app as we work toward our goal—it’s super user-friendly! And just a little Box Tops history… Rushton has earned $10,840.44 since we enrolled in the program! All of that goes back to support our school! Every Box Top counts!

A heartfelt thank you to our Mission Police Department and Mission Fire Department for joining us for Heroes’ Lunch today.

Especially when we pause to remember 9/11, we are reminded of how important you are to our community—not just today, but every day. We are so grateful for all that you do and for the care you show our community. Thank you for being our heroes!

A week from today is the SMN Homecoming Football Game, and all North-feeder schools are welcome to join in on the fun!

Kids get FREE admission and a FREE Brickhouse Bound t-shirt, and to make it even more exciting, they’ll also get to form the tunnel on the football field before the game starts—definitely a really cool experience for our students.

Let’s show our Bison some love next week at the Homecoming Parade AND Homecoming Football Game! ❤️🏈

One week from today is Culver’s Night and the SMN Homecoming Parade! These are two of our favorite events of the year in one night, and we can’t wait to celebrate.

Our school is signed up again this year to have a float in the parade, and all teachers, students, and families are welcome to walk with us. There will be music, candy for the kids to pass out to spectators, bubbles, and such a great vibe as all North-feeder schools are welcome to participate in the parade.

We recommend heading to the parade and then making your way over to Culver’s for dinner before you head home—it’s the perfect combo! Here are some more details for the evening:

📍The parade starts at 5:30 PM near the SMN Fieldhouse. We recommend getting there early, as parking may be limited. We’ll gather around our float (look for Ritchie and our Rushton banner!) around 5:15 PM and try to get some photos before we take off.

📍The parade route exits onto Metcalf, continues onto 61st Street, up Robinson, and onto Johnson Drive. The parade takes approximately 35 minutes, so it’s just enough time for the kids to enjoy!

📍We encourage our teachers, students, and families to dress in Rushton gear or red and walk alongside the float.

📍SMN’s 4th Annual Block Party will take place immediately following the parade, featuring games, food trucks, and plenty of celebration.

📍To make dinner easy, Rushton PTA has also arranged a Dining Partnership with Culver’s that evening. Culver’s will generously donate a portion of ALL SALES from 5-8 PM back to our school!

We can’t wait to see everyone next week! Let’s show our Rushton spirit and make it a night to remember!

Morning Mile started today!! Don’t forget to bring your student(s) to school at 7:20 AM so they can burn some energy and have some fun walking or running with their friends before the school day gets started!

Parents are not required to stay unless you’re bringing a pre-k student, but we encourage all parents to get in on the fun too. We love seeing our Hawks getting their miles in!
