So much to do at the Rafael Cantu Library! Keep reading Cavaliers!

That's a wrap for library orientation! Our eighth graders concluded their beginning-of-the-year sessions by analyzing, evaluating, and reflecting on six different book genres. Excellent work!

Our Cavaliers mastered so much—from learning our emergency procedures to exploring both our physical shelves and our digital library on MackinVIA. They discovered how to hunt for books in our online catalog, checked out reads, and even learned how to unlock those awesome Beanstack rewards. 🏆

Visiting the library is critical to student academic achievement. Dr. Pray, our librarian, thanks our Reading teachers for championing literacy in support of our Cavaliers!

📚💡 Learning, exploring, and bringing it back to our campuses!

Our district librarians are spending time at a BrainPOP training at Region One ESC Library Services learning about new features, exploring great tools, and discovering fun ways to support instruction. 🧠✨

We’re excited to bring what we learned back to our campuses and share new ideas and resources with our teachers to help make learning engaging, interactive, and FUN for our students! 🍎💻

🐾📚 Celebrating National Dog Month! 🐶

Midkiff Elementary students are celebrating National Dog Month this August with plenty of smiles, puppy love, and a little reading fun! We love seeing our students connect their love of animals with the joy of reading. 📖🐕💙

Our librarians were excited to kick off the new school year at our Back to School Bash in July! 📚💙

We shared free books, created a Reading Bingo challenge, and encouraged everyone to visit each table to talk about favorite books, current reads, and favorite characters. Because reading isn’t just for students—it’s a lifelong pursuit that keeps us curious, learning, and growing!

Once participants got a Bingo, they could spin the prize wheel, but everyone was always welcome to choose a free book, grab some stickers, and enjoy our creative activities, including making stencils and floral bookmarks.

We loved sharing our love of reading and showing that there’s always another great story waiting to be discovered! 📖✨
