Prizes are a big deal here! I try to pick great prizes for the kids, so they are motivated. It takes a while for kids to turn in their points to get a prize, and I love how they work so hard! Look at these smiles! ! love how different each one is too.

New Learn-to-Read Class Starting! We have 2 spots available for this class. This class is perfect for your TK or K child! We only open these classes a couple times a year. This is a great opportunity for any child who knows his/her letters and sounds and is ready to start reading.

This is the perfect age because we can create a love of learning and and strong foundation. At Within Reach, we teach reading in a small-group setting with a focus on fun!

If you are interested, please email me to set up an assessment.

Most of you know that I run a Kindness Project in my spare time, and I am doing acts of kindness for my upcoming birthday, and I would love your help! If you are able to donate, I would be so grateful!

For my birthday this year, I'm building 500 birthday cake kits for local food pantries. Every kit is shelf-stable and needs no eggs or oil. That means families facing food insecurity can still celebrate birthdays with something sweet.

Johnny Appleseed Day never gets old around here. Every year, the kids dive into his story and every year, the debate gets real. Was he generous? Was he greedy? Was he both? We read about the man who planted apple trees so no one would go hungry. Then we read about the man who bought up land and sold trees for profit. Our readers weighed the evidence, defended their opinions, and listened to each other. That's critical thinking in action.

And the extra credit? A pot on the head, just like Johnny wore. They showed up and delivered.

We have a reward system in class called RAD points (Really Awesome Day). The first class to fill up their bucket with RAD points wins a prize. Team #3 earned an ice cream sundae party! They were so pumped! I love how they all work together for this common goal. Great job team #3!
