FYI:
The Hazel Health telemental health services that were previously being provided to students on campus are no longer available 😢😭. Good News though! moving forward, we will be rolling out "Daybreak Health", which provides telemental health services that students can access from home. I will be communicating with families about this resource and making referrals as appropriate for students who may benefit from additional mental health support.

Attached is the DayBreak website for parents to make those self-referrals https://www.daybreakhealth.com/lausd (note: referrals to Daybreak Health must be completed by parents or guardians. Referrals can't be submitted directly by LAUSD staff).

BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT UPDATE!
Due to the hot weather, we will forgo meeting on the yard at 5:45pm for the welcome/introduction.
All families should go directly to their first classroom.

Back-to-School Night is intended for parents only, however we understand families may have challenges with childcare. Please be aware there will be no supervision available, so students will not be allowed on yard or on apparatus.

Teachers will log in to Zoom at https://tinyurl.com/SJassembly2627 at 5:50pm for the Principal Welcome and Introduction, then will begin their first presentation. We will begin Session 2 promptly at 6:35pm. Please make an appointment with the teachers or contact them at another time if you have a specific questions.

Thank you to those who attended Coffee with the Principal on Friday. You can access the presentation at tinyurl.com/SJparentfolder25. Don't forget Back-to-School Night on Tuesday, August 25. Meet on the yard at 5:45pm for principal welcome and staff introductions followed by classroom sessions at 6:00pm and 6:35pm. Don't forget to stop by the library and Parent Center. Stop by the PTA Booth to join. All members will be entered into a gift basket raffle.

On Tuesday morning, there will be an earthquake drill in class. This is a good time to also discuss emergency plans at home. Lastly, join Ms. K on Friday at 8:30am for a Community Workshop.

Thank you for a wonderful first week of school! Staff and students are excited to begin a new year of learning. We are still enrolling, so classroom changes may not be accommodated at this time.

Remember that dismissal every Tuesday is at 1:29pm. Please note that the YS program no longer exists so students need to be picked up on time after school unless they are officially enrolled in LACC.

This is a reminder that school begins this Wednesday, August 12 from 8:05am-2:29pm. Entrance gates on Clymer and San Jose will open at 7:30am. Students will receive their class assignment on the first day since rosters are still being finalized. PAL, TK, Kinder and First grade will go to tables out front to receive a sticker with their teacher and room number. Students in grades 2-3 will go to tables on campus. 4th-5th graders will check the class lists posted by the auditorium to find their class. Changes will not be accommodated at this time.

Only students with an approved application will be allowed to stay in the afterschool program.

New students orientation is Monday at 9am. If you did not have a chance to attend the virtual or in-person meetings, you can access the presentation at tinyurl.com/SJparentfolder25 to review school information.

Les recordamos que las clases comienzan este miércoles 12 de agosto, en horario de 8:05 a. m. a 2:29 p. m. Las puertas de entrada en las calles Clymer y San Jose se abrirán a las 7:30 a. m. Los estudiantes recibirán la asignación de su grupo el primer día, ya que las listas aún se están ultimando. Los alumnos de PAL, TK, Kínder y primer grado deberán dirigirse a las mesas situadas en la entrada principal para recibir una etiqueta con el nombre de su maestro y el número de salón. Los estudiantes de segundo y tercer grado irán a las mesas ubicadas dentro del plantel. Los alumnos de cuarto y quinto grado consultarán las listas de clases publicadas junto al auditorio para localizar su grupo. No se realizarán cambios en este momento.

Welcome to the new school year! The first day of school is Wednesday, August 12 from 8:05am-2:29pm. Students will receive their class assignments on that day. Letters with school information were mailed last week. If you did not receive a packet, please call the office to verify your address and/or go to tinyurl.com/SJparent2324 for copies.

Join us for TK and Kinder orientation on Wednesday, August 5 at 9:00am or 2:00pm in the auditorium. New students in other grades may come on Monday, August 10 at 9:00am.
