Allison Coffeen, managing editor of the Beacon, is our "Writer of the Week"! Get to know her better:
What brought you to Bethel?
I came to Bethel for a few reasons: it was close to home, campus was beautiful, and the chapel speaker was moving. I was also planning to walk on to the soccer team, but instead I joined the lacrosse team and never looked back. I am currently pursuing an English major.
Why are you passionate about journalism?
I love being the first one to know the story and I love being able to share that story with others. Journalism gives you the opportunity to shape and mold a story however you think it should go.
What are your hobbies?
In the rare weekends I have off, I like to hike, cook, fish, and plan trips. I also love walking my dog, reading, and playing video games.
