We are bursting with pride as one of our very own NVCA Alumni, Ayriana Avance, is being featured on the IUSB website! 🙌🏽 ❤

At just 22 years old, this incredible young woman has already earned TWO bachelor’s degrees—one in Criminal Justice and one in Social Work—and TOMORROW she will walk across the stage to receive her Master’s Degree in Social Work! 🎓👑

Graduate student Ayriana Avance’s desire to make a real difference in people’s lives, along with her passion for mental health and addiction recovery work, solidified her decision to major in social work, and tomorrow she will be receiving her master's degree.

“As a first-generation African American college student, one of my biggest accomplishments has been pushing through the challenges of higher education while balancing work, family, and community responsibilities. It hasn’t always been easy, but being a trailblazer for the next generation in my family has been deeply rewarding.”

Her next steps after graduation are to pursue Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credentials, all while continuing to serve, heal, and uplift others.

Families with middle and high school students have an opportunity to learn more about ways to prepare for college during the Journey to College Summit hosted on campus.
