Earlier this week, several members of the Cavemen in the Community community service club at Mishawaka High School visited All 4 Animals Rescue to spend time volunteering by caring for and socializing with the dogs and cats. This hands-on service helped the shelter and gave students a much-needed boost as we work toward finals and the end of the school year. If interested in being a member of the Cavemen in the Community Club, be sure to look for information about a call-out meeting when school reconvenes in August.

This year Kassia Bell, junior, has been Mishawaka's trailblazing student in the Agriculture Pathway. Working with Mishawaka Parks Dept. staff Jake Crawford and Bailey Reister, Kassia has had many opportunities to learn about, plan, and implement community agriculture programs. Grandma Baker's garden is her most recent design. In one photo you see Mr. Crawford showing the design board for the garden, and in another you see Mr. Brugh admiring peppers that will soon be popping! One thing Kassia is really excited about is the salsa garden--once these vegetables are ripe, community members can stop by and pick cilantro, tomatoes, and jalapenos to take home cook with.
Kassia is now hard at work on a design for a sensory garden that will be planted next year (see the photos!). We are still seeking funding for this project, so the start date is TBD!
