We’d like to introduce you to another new face in the Music and Theatre Department!
Nikki Allred Boyd is excited to begin her journey with the Bethel University Fine Arts program as dance faculty. Originally from Lovington, New Mexico, Nikki received her BFA in dance at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. After graduating, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in musical theatre. She worked for several regional theatres throughout the country performing various musical productions. Some of her favorites include 42nd Street
(Fireside Theatre, Broadway Palm), Singin’ in the Rain, (The Fulton Opera House, Maltz Jupiter Theatre), Carousel (Actors’ Playhouse, Cumberland County Playhouse), and A Chorus Line (Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Stage Door Theatre). After settling in southeastern Florida, she continued her professional career but began branching out into teaching and choreography. While working for Pine Crest Preparatory School as a dance and theatre teacher, Nikki also
choreographed and directed several musicals including Kiss Me, Kate, High School Musical, Meet Me in St. Louis, and Grease. Off-campus, she also choreographed Saturday Night Fever
(Lake Worth Playhouse), and Ruthless (Actors’ Playhouse). In the summers, she continued her education by attending the Lester Horton Pedagogy Workshop for two sessions at Alvin Ailey studios and graduate school at the Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. In May of 2021, she graduated with her Master’s of Fine Arts in Choreography. After writing her thesis on
the phenomenon of interruption in performance, she explored other dance writing opportunities. In September of 2021, Nikki had a published article on the NDEO website that was later added to the Alvin Ailey archives. She currently resides with her husband and son in Sister Lakes, Michigan. www.nikkiallredboyd.com
