Hello everyone! It has been a while since we have posted last and we are here to introduce you to our new group of students this year who will be working on our 1931 Ford Model A restoration project. Everyone who was in the class last year graduated and I am the only returning student (Kyra). Last year was hard with Covid-19 and having an average of 2-3 students in the class at a time. We were able to get the frame restored the original way by the end of the year. This year with our new group of students, we will be working on more body work, interior, and more. We hope to be able to complete the car by the end of the year to be as close to factory new as possible. I will be trying my best to keep you guys updated with pictures and things to show you our progress when I'm not getting my hands dirty. Let me know if you have anything particular you want to see from us.

Our class has been spending lots of time working on the Model A. We have moved everything from the garage into our classroom which is when the real work of restoration began. At the moment, we are focused on restoring the front axle, rear axle, and frame. We have been cleaning and stripping all the nuts and bolts as well as grinding off all of the tiny spots of rust which has been working quite nicely. From looking at all the parts we have, our thoughts are to restore the undercarriage (frame) as completely original. The plan was to restore the whole car as completely original, but as we look at time and start to be more realistic, we plan to restore as much original as possible.

After our winter break and finding out that we were able to start coming back to class for half the week, we have been making progress on our Model A restoration project! This is very exciting for us and I hope it is for you guys as well. We were able to get the body of the car into the school and take a cool video along the way. Our class has been trying to take as many pictures as possible of everything to share and videos as well. Our journey of restoring our 1931 Ford Model A is on it’s way! We have been working on taking the car apart down in our auto bay that we have here at the school. All parts that we take apart are documented into folders with pictures and details. From here we can determine what all we need to find and order. Our plan after taking everything apart is to then rebuild the car in the shop area of our classroom to make the rebuilding process in the future much easier. Once we have the car back together we will then start the restoration process. We would like to thank everyone who is following us along on our restoration project and everyone who has donated.
