Who remembers our fabulous costume contest winners from last year?? 👻💀

We're keeping it simple with three categories this year:
- Best Individual
- Best Couple
- Best Group

We've got some awesome prizes coming in from generous local vendors, service providers and businesses and neighbors for the winners. More specific details to come! 🤩

Voting will take place during the event. Every attendee will get one vote for each category. Last votes will be taken and counted at 11:30 p.m. and winners will be announced shortly afterward. 🎃

You do not need to be present to win, but we would love to be able to take pictures of all the winners again! 🧡🖤

Just a few more volunteer spots to be filled and we are READY for the Harvest Ball on the 24th. Signing up for any shift will get you free admission to the event.

Entrance 10:30 p.m. - 12:30(close) Benefits- get to see everyone costume and welcome them to the fun

Kids zone support 6 - 10 (activities will be prepped & ready, Kids Zone Leader is just needing another pair of helpful hands.) Benefits- quieter than main tent, fun with the neighborhood kiddos

Merchandise/Quit ticket sales 8:30 - 11:30p.m. Benefits- easy, get your own chair to watch the fun while helping people

Potluck area 4:30 - 7:30 & 7:30 - 11 p.m.
Set up area with plates, bowls, cutlery, etc and ensure patrons have the supplies they need.

Contest table- 5:30 - 8 & 8 - 11:30
Help patrons cast their votes for their favorite costumes and Jack-o-lantern. Count votes to help determine winners
Show off the awesome prize baskets.

We have some exciting things planned for decorating the tent this year and we need YOUR help!

We will have various pumpkins available to carve on Friday the 23rd during set up of the event, as well as during the event.

If you'd like to participate in the Jack-o-lantern contest, we will assign your gorgoues ghord a number. And event goers can vote on their favorites!🎃
*Top favorite will be announced at 9:30 p.m. and will get a special prize basket, filled with locally crafted goods and certificates. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

We also are on the hunt for about 20 cheap hay bales. If you know where we can find some for donation or affordable price, let us know! Bonus if you can haul them to the school- we'll put your name on a couple of bales that you can take home with you for free.
If anyone would like to sponsor a bale, and claim a few bales to take home with them let us know! You can also claim them (for a small donation) at the entrance of the event.

If you have any cornstalks, ghords, squash, flowers (alive or dried), spooky sticks, ethically harvested old man's beard, animal bones, pinecones and other safely forged items you'd like to donate for us to use in our decorations, we will take anything and put it to spook-tacular use! 👻💀

Lastly, we also need some pop-ups/easy-ups or covered carports to create our extra spaces around the main tent, which allow our entrance, food/bar and backstage area to remain dry (always anticipating moisture for this event 😏)

Please bring anything you've got (even just snacks for our set up crew) on Friday the 23rd after 11 am. We will be setting up all day. 😎

We couldn't make this event happen without your help, so thank you to anyone and everyone who's supporting and plans to contribute in anyway to our community fundraising event. 🙏🏽🧡🖤

Who's getting ready to Boogie at the Harvest Ball on the 24th?? 🎃💀

The Cowtown Sound will be setting the stage for a night of wacky and spooky fun! Starting at 7:30 they'll be bringing their homebrew movement music with original songs, jukebox classics, and an unusual instrumentation that includes cello and singing saw. Good times guaranteed...

Come on out for our favorite delightfully ghoulish event, the Harvest Ball. 🍁🍂
As a fundraising benefit for Salmon Creek Community School, this event that has been running, with the help, support and enthusiam of our community, for 55 years. Let's keep the celebration alive with some dead on fun! 🎃 👻 💀

Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Featuring Live Musical Talents:
~ The Cowtown Sound 7 - 9:30 p.m.
~ Intergalatic Trash 10 - 11:30 p.m.

Jack--Lantern Contest Winners Announced (Top two favorites)
around 9:45 p.m. *1st group photo afterwards!

Costume Contest 11:30 p.m. - 12 p.m.

~Best Group

After 12- Last group photo and various local DJs will keep us on the dance floor! 💃 🕺🏽

Admission suggested $20 (no one turned away due to lack of funds)

$100 buys you 100 quilt tickets, a Salmon Creek cup, a "Pay it Forward" admission wristband and entrance to the event.

Every day we are making decisions, getting tasks done and staying organized as we prepare for the Harvest Ball. And we STILL NEED HELP! 👻🎃

We are offering free admission to anyone who volunteers for a 4 hour shift for any of these areas:
- Entrance
- Tent set up/Pop-up/Rainproofing
- Merchandise & Quilt Tickets
- Parking/Security
- Contest Table
- Decorations/Set up
- Kids Zone
- Food/Potluck
- Bar

Get ahold of Lux, Christine Rogers, or Kym with whatever area you're interested in. We appreciate all the help!!

Check out who else we scored for the Harvest Ball happening on the 24th... The Cowtown Sound!!

The Cowtown Sound is a group of friends that make homebrew movement music. Singing saw, ripping cello, hippie-punk hony-tonk, unexpected ska- you name it, they got it...

Rehearsing in a garage in the Arcata Bottoms, recording in a yurt on a farm by the Eel River, and gigging round the watering holes of Humboldt County, this group will surely get us moving and grooving in our costumes!

We are SO stoked to be having Intergalatic Trash playing at the Harvest Ball on Saturday the 24th this month! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
