I love that we can take the things teachers have known and used for years, pair them with what research is teaching us now, and put BOTH into practice at Smart Diehl.

Because sometimes the “old school” things really do work. We just know a little more about why now.

Tomorrow is International Overdose Awareness Day ❤️‍🩹

Before the hustle and bustle of the first day of school at Smart Diehl tomorrow, I wanted to share this first.

Three years ago, I lost my little brother to fentanyl. Fentanyl is a substance that kids and teens are often exposed to without realizing it. And the terrifying part is that one pill is sometimes all it takes.

A misconception is that it's rare to come across it, but the DEA found that more than 60% of fake pills tested contain a lethal dose of fentanyl.

This post is very different from what you will normally see on this account, but some conversations are too important to stay quiet about.

So here is my message to you: talk to your kids. Not once, but ongoing, at every age, in whatever way fits your family.

Let them know that no matter what, they can always come to you.
