Minster FFA recently conducted an activity for the 5th and 6th graders to learn about our schools’ crop plot. Stations covered parts of the soybean plant, types of equipment used, products made from soybeans, and how we judge the soil!🚜

It’s been a busy day for Minster FFA! We started the morning with Nora, Chance, and Ryland competing in the District 5 job interview competition. Our afternoon was wrapped up with unloading 240 cases of water for the Oktoberfest. Support Minster FFA by purchasing any water at the festival this weekend! 🇩🇪🥨

On Friday, 16 members competed in the District Soil judging competition. Congratulations to our highest placing rural judger, Michael Wendeln, and urban judger, Chance Hagaman!

Minster FFA was well represented today at the Ohio State House for the Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference. Members learned about the current bills affecting Ohio agriculture and how those bills are passed. We heard from several speakers and members worked on developing their personal agricultural stories!

Minster FFA recently competed in the Auglaize county soil judging competition. Highlight of the day was the Rural team of Ian Clune, Colin Prenger, Michael Wendeln, and Eli Zumberger placing second out of 39 teams! Way to go Cats!🎉

Congratulations to Colby Niemeyer on being named the Minster FFA September Member of the Month!🎉

Colby is an active member of the chapter by participating in soil judging and the ag tech and mech contest. Colby also has an extensive SAE project of working on a local dairy farm. Way to go, Colby!

SAEs in action!🐷🐐🐰🚜🌾🐮

SAEs, also know as supervised agricultural experiences, are FFA members’ projects that are agriculturally based. These projects allow for members to extend their education outside of the classroom. Hours and profit earned from the SAEs will be used for members to earn their State Degrees. Projects range from swine production, small gardening, caring for fish, landscaping, construction, and more!
