# # # 🍎 Welcome, September!
Dear KK2.0 Families,
Can you believe September is already here? As we head into a new month and a new school year, we are excited for all the learning, growing, exploring, and fun ahead!
September is a month of fresh starts. Our classrooms are settling into new routines, friendships are growing, and our teachers are preparing engaging learning experiences designed to meet each child where they are.
Thank you for trusting Kiddie Korral 2.0 with the most important people in your lives. We are grateful to be part of your family's journey!

# # 📚 A New Year of Learning
September brings a renewed focus on routines, relationships, independence, and learning.
Our teachers will continue using our developmentally appropriate curriculum to provide meaningful experiences throughout the day. Children will have opportunities to build:
* Social-emotional skills
* Language and communication
* Early literacy
* Early math and problem-solving
* Fine and gross motor skills
* Independence and self-help skills
* Creativity and imagination
* Positive relationships with teachers and peers
Remember, **play is learning!** What may look like simple play to an adult is often a child practicing important developmental skills.

# # ⭐ Best in Class Begins a New Year
We are excited to continue our **Best in Class** programming beginning September 1!
Kiddie Korral 2.0 is proud to participate as a **Step 3 Best in Class program**. This designation represents our commitment to quality early childhood education and continuous improvement.
Our Best in Class program helps us strengthen the quality of care and education we provide through professional development, curriculum, assessment, family engagement, and quality improvement.
We appreciate our teachers for the work they put into maintaining these standards—and we appreciate our families for partnering with us!

# # 💰 Important Billing Reminder
# # # September 1 Billing Transition

# # 📝 Parent Paperwork & Updates
Please continue to watch ProCare for important messages, forms, announcements, and reminders.
When a form or document is sent to you, please complete it as soon as possible.
Keeping children's records current is an important part of maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-quality childcare program.
Please let us know whenever there are changes to:
* Phone numbers
* Addresses
* Emergency contacts
* Authorized pick-up individuals
* Employment information
* Family circumstances
* Medical or allergy information
* Your child's schedule
---
# # 💧 Water, Water Everywhere!
As we transition into fall, please remember to send your child with a **labeled water bottle** each day if they use one.
Hydration remains important even as temperatures begin to cool.
Please make sure your child's water bottle is:
* Clearly labeled with their first and last name
* Sent to school each day
* Taken home regularly for cleaning
---
# # 👕 Fall Clothing Reminder
Fall weather in North Dakota can change quickly!
Please check your child's cubby and make sure they have appropriate backup clothing available.
We recommend keeping:
* 1–2 complete changes of clothing
* Underwear
* Socks
* Weather-appropriate outerwear
As the weather gets cooler, please make sure jackets, sweatshirts, hats, and other seasonal items are clearly labeled.
**Children can get messy while they learn—and that's okay!** Please send clothing that allows them to explore, create, paint, play, and participate without worrying about getting dirty.
---
# # 🧸 Separation & New Routines
September can bring big changes for children.
Some children may be adjusting to:
* A new classroom
* New teachers
* New friends
* A new schedule
* Preschool or kindergarten routines
* Changes at home
It is completely normal for children to have some big feelings during periods of transition.
Our teachers will continue providing consistent routines, reassurance, encouragement, and lots of opportunities for children to feel successful.
If your child is having a difficult time with a transition, please communicate with their teachers. **We are a team!**
---
# # ❤️ Family Partnerships Matter
One of the most important things we can do for children is work together.
Please communicate with us about anything that may affect your child's day—even something that may seem small.
A change in sleep, routine, family circumstances, or mood can sometimes affect a child's behavior and participation.
Remember:
# # # **Every behavior is communication.**
Our goal is not simply to correct behavior. We want to understand what children are communicating and help them develop the skills they need to express themselves appropriately.
---
# # 📱 Stay Connected Through ProCare
Please continue checking ProCare regularly for:
* Classroom updates
* Daily reports
* Photos
* Menus
* Announcements
* Billing information
* Important reminders
* Messages from teachers and administration
Please make sure your ProCare notifications are turned on so you don't miss important information.
---
# # 🥕 September Nutrition
Our teachers and kitchen team will continue working to provide nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day.
We encourage families to talk with their children about the foods they eat at KK2.0 and at home.
Our goal is to help children develop positive relationships with food while learning about:
* Fruits and vegetables
* Trying new foods
* Balanced meals
* Listening to their bodies
* Making healthy choices
Our weekly menu continues to be available through ProCare.
---
# # 🌱 Learning Happens Everywhere
As we move into fall, there are so many opportunities to extend your child's learning at home.
Try asking your child:
**“What was your favorite thing you did today?”**
Instead of asking only, **“How was your day?”**
You can also:
🍂 Collect and count leaves
🔢 Count steps while walking
📚 Read a story together
🎨 Create fall artwork
🥕 Let your child help prepare a meal
🧩 Work on puzzles together
🗣️ Ask your child to tell you about a friend
🍎 Practice identifying colors and shapes
These simple activities build language, math, problem-solving, independence, and relationship skills.

# # 🌟 A Note From Amanda
Kiddie Korral 2.0 has never been just about providing childcare.
We are here to create a place where children feel **safe, loved, respected, challenged, encouraged, and excited to learn.**
That takes an entire community.
It takes teachers who show up every day and give their best. It takes families who communicate and partner with us. And most importantly, it takes children who remind us every day why this work matters.
Thank you for being part of the KK2.0 family.
We are looking forward to an amazing September!
With appreciation,
**Amanda McCallum**
