📣 Attention Washington Artists! 📣

Washington students' artwork is on display at the North Dakota State Fair again this year! 🖌️🎨🖍️

Artwork has moved from the 4H room (where it has been for years) to the room across the lobby in the All Seasons building. Washington artwork is in several places around this room. If a student finds their artwork and tells the worker at the table, they will receive a slip for a free NDSF sweatshirt!

We are so proud of all the projects entered this year! 🥇❤️👏🏻

We wrapped up June Book Club last week, & everyone went home with two brand new books! 🤩

📖 K-1 learned about & read books by author/illustrator Cori Doerrfeld!

📚 2-3 learned about & read books by author Tracey West, author/illustrator Aaron Blabey, & author/illustrator Dan Santat!

📖 4-5 discussed the ending of Jarrett Lerner's illustrated novel in verse, "A Work in Progress."

We had a fabulous month of reading! We hope to see you back next summer.

🐷🐻 2-3 learned about & read books by author Kate DiCamillo & author/illustrator Ryan T. Higgins!

📝🛹 4-5 discussed the middle of their illustrated novel in verse called "A Work in Progress."

BARR Center 💛

We’re celebrating Minot Moments from the 2025-26 school year! ✨

Washington Elementary continued the implementation of the BARR model. This team-based approach is increasing teacher input, strengthening relationships among students, families, and staff, and helping every student succeed.

Coordinators, grade-level teachers, and the school counselor also attended the BARR Conference to gain deeper insight into how this model can continue to flourish at the school in the years ahead. We are excited to keep building on student strengths and supporting success together!

Washington Elementary School 2nd-5th graders worked throughout March and April to earn the top spot in the district-wide IXL Challenge.

We are so proud of these Washington mathematicians for staying focused, giving their best effort, and showing what can happen when students rise to the challenge! 🪄
