Getting ready to film your Conservation Quick Clip? Clear audio makes a big difference, and you can get great sound right from your phone.

🔊 Get close to your mic by holding your phone at arm’s length when you talk so your voice stays clear.

🌬 Block the wind by turning away from it, hold the phone close to your chest, or stand beside a building or vehicle.

🗣 Use a voiceover if it’s noisy. Film your visuals silently, then record your narration in a quiet place and add it when you edit.

💡 Bonus tip: Affordable wireless mics are available for most smartphones.

Alex Wittenberg is the State Agronomist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in North Dakota. He supports field offices and producers across the state in developing conservation plans and agronomic strategies that improve soil health and fit local conditions.

At the webinar, Alex will give an overview of NRCS programs that can support organic transition, conservation practices, and farm improvement projects, including OTI, EQIP, and CSP.

✨ In 2007, FARRMS launched the first Farm Beginnings course in North Dakota, bringing aspiring farmers and experienced producers together to learn, share ideas, and build a stronger future for local agriculture. 📸 Swipe through to see some of our graduates over the years!

Nearly two decades later, the same farmer-to-farmer approach is still at the heart of our work. Our classes are led by farmers with lived experience, who serve as mentors, guest speakers, and field day hosts. They help new farmers put knowledge into practice

Join us for "Dream Start: Planting Your Farm's Future," a free online workshop for anyone thinking about starting a farm. You will explore your motivation, visualize your future farm, and learn from North Dakota farmers who have taken the leap.
