For the past 17+ years Faces Etc of MN has served as Minnesota’s first Multi-Media Makeup School. What a privilege it has been to serve our wonderful community! I am humbled to see what this school has become over the years. Today we are closing this chapter as we close our doors at Faces Etc of MN.
Let’s call it a “repurpose” not a retirement!
My decades of work as a national platform artist, educator, beauty school director, and curriculum writer stirred a deep desire in me to mentor students. This passion led to the opening of Faces Etc of MN, Makeup school in 2007.
In that time, we have helped raise up and develop hundreds of makeup careers, with students coming from all over the USA, as well as Canada, Pakistan, Ecuador, the UK, China, and more.
What a dream to have worked with so many inspiring and talented people!
With 5 decades under my belt in this industry, two of the top highlights of my career were: a missions trip to Batam Indonesia where we educated young women on the use and application of makeup. The other was in 2020, when Faces Etc alumni and some fellow artists came together and were instrumental in creating a new MN law which enables Makeup Artists, in Minnesota, thrive in their careers — uninhibited by the Board of Cosmetology. The Law was a game changer for our industry, and it guaranteed freedom to pursue makeup careers and open doors for entrepreneurs!
It is an end of an era as we close our doors. Thank you Minnesota, from the bottom of my heart! It has been an honor to be part of your journey
