Iliff School of Theology is currently traveling El Salvador for 10 days on a custom program, “Ethics, Culture, and Justice;” walking in the footsteps of Saint Oscar Romero and other Salvadoran martyrs.

On December 2, the group participated in events (including a procession and Catholic mass) to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the brutal killing of four religious women from the United States.

This group of participants is immersed in the study of Liberation Theology and engaging with human rights defenders, community leaders, artists, and others who are working for justice in El Salvador.

Christmas is here in Northern Ireland!

Not really, the snow is soon gone, but the lights are lit for now! Great way to herald our last week of internship as we get ready to head home. 3 of us had the chance to see my coworkers open for Elephant Sessions, on tour at New Gate.

Xochicalco is an archeological site located in the state of Morelos, Mexico. This place witnessed a rich intercultural history, and it still offers great views! Just 45 min away from Cuernavaca, it was a must-visit place for us! ☀️

NaDeet! The Namibia CGEE group took their final trip to the Namib Desert Environmental Educational Trust Centre (NaDeet) and enjoyed a week fully immersed in the Namibian Desert, learning about the UNSDG’s and Environmental Sustainable Development (ESD). This trip was informative, hands on, and an amazing time. Looking forward to continuing the fun during our last few weeks in Namibia:)

Amazing past week here in Northern Ireland, with seminar out in the Roe Valley, with a nice breakfast and a walk. Also, super exciting week at New Gate Arts, as we get closer to the end of our internships. Had the chance to see local artist Ruá and welcome Frankie Archer to her first performance on the island.

As we get closer to the end of our time here, we have time to reflect on how far we've come, both in our learning and in our relationships with the people we've worked with for the last couple months. A lot of us are missing home, but we'll be sad to leave!

Halloween was a huge success here at my internship at New Gate Arts & Culture Centre! Absolutely brilliant to work on this event and to watch the performance of the amazing Sollus Highland Dancers!

The biggest Halloween festival in Europe is here in Northern Ireland, and I'm so thankful to have been behind the scenes with the amazing talent that puts part of it on!

In Costa Rica, we’ve spent the past few days in the beautiful community of Longo Mai. This community offers refuge, housing, and work to those escaping violence. We learned, listened, danced, ate, and of course made unforgettable memories!

This weekend was about Dia de Mu***os celebration in Mexico! 🏵💀

The staff and students collaborated with our Ofrenda, an altar to commemorate our loved ones, the ones who are not with us anymore. We also learned how to bake "Pan de Mu**to", a traditional bread.

There are a lot of beautiful traditions and cultural activities around this day.

Xochimilco is a very important wetland in Mexico City, that provides weather regulation and water. It's artificial islands, called "chinampas" were built by the prehispanic people for agriculture purposes. Some of them are still in use today, and some others are used for recreational purposes too. They are surrounded by canals, home of many species of plants, migratory birds, and other animals, including the legendary axolotl.
We visited a chinampa dedicated to ecological restoration from a great project called Humedalia, we had a meal made from freshly harvested vegetables from the site, explored the canals, and learned about their history, the current challanges and their conservation efforts.
We want to thank .ac for the fellowship and academic collaboration!
