A Trip to Clark:

Last September, we had the chance to visit Clark University with my colleague Ari, our goal was to share what Augsburg had to offer. Little did I know, it would turn into a day filled with reconnections and heartfelt moments.

Beyond the recruitment activities, what made this experience truly special was reconnecting with our CGEE Namibia and Mexico alumni, which turned into a joyful reunion. The day turned into an exploration of Worcester’s hidden gems, and a tour of the university . Clark’s alumni showed us around their favorite spots, turning the visit into a mix of professional engagement and personal connection. They also gifted me a Clark hat 🧢.

In essence, our visit to Clark University became a heartfelt moment of shared experiences, friendships, and personal growth—a reminder of the incredible impact of studying abroad.

Your warm welcome and the memories we created during our visit mean the world. Until we meet again, Clarkies!

Yoo hoo, it's Mara from the Mesoamerica/Central America program! Last weekend our cohort went on an excusion here in Costa Rica to Volcán Irazú, and to visit the mineral hotsprings that also had a farm! It was a very long day, but the breathtaking views and much needed time to relax absolutely made it all worth it!

The students from St. Olaf College immerse themselves in Namibia’s political landscape. Here, captured at the Namibian Parliament. They engaged in dialogue with Namibian leaders in the National Assembly and the National Council, gaining insights into the pressing issues shaping the nation’s narrative. This experience is not just a visit; it’s a bridge connecting academic curiosity with real-world governance, leaving a mark on these young minds.

Hola!!!!! Lorpu here from Cuernavaca Mexico! It’s really sunny out here today. Hope you all are enjoying the weather in Minnesota lol. Anyways, back on my agenda. I want you all to meet these amazing people that I have had the pleasure of meeting here in México-Cuernavaca. Ann, Antonio, Fatima, and Rosalba have been amazing teachers/professors to all of the students here. There is never a dull moment with them. They go above and beyond to make sure that our needs here are met. I can’t imagine Casa Augsburg and this study aboard experience without them. They’re a blessing to all of us here and we are grateful to have them all. I could write paragraphs about each staff here talking about all of the amazing work that they’re doing for their students, but I know you all have some snow to shovel in Minnesota so I will end it here. Until next time, stay warm, get some hot chocolate or coffee and have a great Thursday!!

Yoo hoo, it's Mara from the Central America/Mesoamerica program! For this post I wanted to introduce the icon, the legend, the one and only Pablo Rojas!! Pablo is the Program Facilitator for the Guatemala/Mexico portion of the program, and he is truly one of the most incredible people ever. He has made sure that all of us in our cohort get the care and support we need to have a successful experience. He has challenged us to grow, think critically, and to put kindness and respect at the forefront of everything we do. Because of Pablo we have expanded our worldviews, learned a ton, created meaningful relationships with community members and organizations, sought to better understand, take action, and lead with a genuine heart, humility and curiosity. Pablo plays a critical role in this program, and our experience in Guatemala and Mexico was so successful because of all the love, care, humor, hardwork and dedication he brought. Our cohort sends our love and gratitude to you back in Guate, Pablo! We miss you already. Muchisimas gracias!
