Happy Winter Solstice
It’s so delicate, the light.
And there’s so little of it. The dark
is huge.
Just delicate needles, the light,
in an endless night.
And it has such a long way to go
through such desolate space.
So let’s be gentle with it.
Cherish it.
So it will come again in the morning.
We hope.
“Just Delicate Needles—” by Rolf
This wet-on-wet watercolor painting was an experiment using several techniques, salt and alcohol resist over the darkest purple using glitter paint for added light in the darkest days of winter.
Peace and love to all of you ❄️❄️❄️

It was so fun to see "Puff" at RHS staring two of my former preschool students!

We had our beautiful Lantern Walk tonight at the preschool. It warms my heart every year to see all these lovely children supported by their parents and by their community in this very special Waldorf tradition. May we all tend to our light within as we enter the darker days ahead. I loved that so many of our Blooming Willows alumni showed up tonight to walk with us.

Unusual high temperatures meet us in November, warm enough for a picnic lunch outside. So strange when considering we've already had our first snowfall of the year!
So I've launched yet another IG account, one for my preschool so if that's why you're here, maybe consider following on the Blooming Willows page where it will be all about early childhood education. Probably should have done it years ago but better late than not at all.

Embracing autumn and the beautiful weather today at the preschool. Using watercolors in spray bottles (yellow and red) we created a negative image of leaves the children gathered on our trip to the park by spraying over the leaves that they arranged on their paper.

Week one at the preschool!! Becoming familiar with our daily rhythm can be exhausting for young kids so we take it slow at the start of a new school year. Children are making friends, learning about transitions, learning new songs and verses, trying some new foods at snack time and having fun playing and doing handwork!
