Today, Sunshine’s admin team dropped two carloads of food and hygiene products to The Jeremiah Program downtown Minneapolis. Thank you for helping spread kindness and lift others up as we enter the holiday season.

We are seeing lots of creative artistic expression in the work choices this morning as the sun shines brightly on us today. ☀️

One of things that Sunshine has always excelled at is caring for our teachers. This MEA break, we are supporting our staff with training time, team meeting time, warm food (from some very sweet parents), and lastly we even SURPRISED them with new sweatshirts!! These are some ways we keep everyone refreshed, renewed and ready to tackle the rest of the fall season. Don’t forget to appreciate a teacher near you and enjoy your fall break everyone 🍂💝

The Montessori Sunburst! A beautiful piece of work, from the Sensorial Area, which allows the children to grade colors from darkest to lightest with the tablets in Color Box 3. Children have to focus to arrange each color in turn and are always delighted to end with a sunburst of color.

Families can find handouts, resources, and some of the books that we are using to highlight our learning each month. Currently we are learning about hispanic heritages and culture as well as Rosh Hashanah.

Having a supportive and involved parent community is one of the best things about Sunshine! Thanks to some generous parents we surprised teachers Monday with new Sunshine shirts.

Sewing Work is already a favorite activity in our Montessori classrooms this year. The progression from stringing large beads to lacing cards to button sewing will continue to grow in complexity to end with sewing and stuffing little pillows. You can see the concentration and coordination required for each level of sewing which build upon the development of children’s fine motor skills through this delightful hands-on purposeful work. 🪡🧵☀️
