Our mission is to foster an inclusive, sustainable community and to teach sailing to all. Minneapolis Sailing Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) sailing school.

MSC was founded in 1989 by parents from the Calhoun Yacht Club who wanted a formal program for their children to learn to sail and to introduce the sport to others in the area. MSC has grown to one of the largest sailing schools in the U.S.

"Just because something hasn't been done, doesn't mean it can't be done. You just might be the first to do it." -Katy Boyd, Founder of Twin Cities Blind Sailing

Twin Cities Blind Sailing was highlighted over the weekend on WCCO. Watch the video to see how TCBS and MSC are working together to get blind and visually impaired folks out sailing on Bde Maka Ska. ⛵⛵⛵

Our fourth annual Raise the Sails fundraiser was a huge success on Friday! We're so grateful for everyone who attended, bid on silent auction items and made generous donations.

Your support means more people in our community get to experience the joy of sailing through our outreach programming and scholarships. THANK YOU!

Our Raise the Sails fundraiser is in 2 days! Join us this Friday at France 44 from 7-9pm for an evening of good company, great food, a cash bar, and a fantastic silent auction.

Last week, Edison High School students came down to Bde Maka Ska and learned to sail, swam in the cold waters, and joined the high school racing team in an Ensign race! Six students have been offered a full scholarship to join a youth camp this summer, and plan to join the high school team in the fall. Raise the Sails silent auction and donation proceeds will all go to this programming that encourages students who have never sailed before to become lifelong sailors.

Charlotte feels freedom on the water when the sighted guide asks her whether she wants to tack or jibe and gives her that choice. She loves “making that decision and going for it. That choice makes me feel powerful. It makes me feel envisioned. It makes me feel in line with nature, and in just going forward ahead.”

Minneapolis Sailing Center's partnership with Twin Cities Blind Sailing allows blind and visually impaired sailors this freedom on the water through bi-weekly cruising days and youth camps. This is all at no cost, and is made possible by our Raise the Sails fundraiser.

Join us at France 44 on May 29th to Raise the Sails with us! Tickets available here: https://event.auctria.com/ac1cc50f-ca85-4651-98fd-291ec1c0f33a/
