On Friday, our community celebrated the start of a new year with the Mass of the Holy Spirit. This Jesuit tradition dates back to 1548 and asks the Holy Spirit to guide and inspire our year. Please join us in asking God's blessing on the whole Cristo Rey community!

Back to school means looking ahead! Our students kicked off the new school year with an incredible first week that took them beyond the classroom and onto college campuses across the Twin Cities.

📚 9th Grade: Augsburg University
📚 10th Grade: Hamline University & St. Catherine University
📚 11th Grade: University of Minnesota
📚 12th Grade: University of St. Thomas

Each class toured the campus, heard from college admissions teams, and got a firsthand look at what college life could look like for them. From their very first week at Cristo Rey to their final year of high school, our students are encouraged to dream big, explore their possibilities, and begin preparing for life after graduation.

Welcome Week is officially underway, and our halls are buzzing with excitement as we welcome our newest Cristo Rey Jesuit students!

Our 9th graders are getting to know their classmates, teachers, traditions, and everything that makes being a Puma so special. From new friendships to new experiences, this is the beginning of an incredible four year journey.

Welcome Aboard!
Cristo Rey's Corporate Work Study Program welcomed 107 supervisors to the Supervisor Orientation last week! Thanks to all who attended and to the many others working to prepare their communities to welcome students back to the office in September. We are grateful for the continued support of our corporate partners, and a special welcome to our newest partners, Claros Technologies, Carondelet, Community Emergency Service, Cozen O'Connor, JLL, Catholic Community Foundation, Hennepin Arts, Fairview, JPMorganChase, East Side Learning Center, Bedrock Restoration, Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES), and Viking Electric. Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Twin Cities, in partnership with the GHR Foundation and St. Catherine University, is proud to continue its partnership to prepare students for careers in healthcare through an intensive summer Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.

Now in its second year, the program has grown significantly, doubling from 12 students in its inaugural cohort to 24 students this summer. The expansion reflects both strong student interest and the increasing demand for healthcare professionals. Through classroom instruction, hands-on practice, and guidance from experienced healthcare educators, students gain valuable exposure to one of the fastest-growing career fields in the nation.

Throughout the program, students develop essential patient care skills while preparing for the Minnesota CNA certification exam, which they will take at the end of July. Training includes measuring vital signs, infection control procedures, patient safety, proper lifting and transfer techniques, communication skills, personal care assistance, and professional standards of care. Students will begin applying these skills this fall during their Corporate Work Study Program CNA placements with partners, including MN Epilepsy Group, Children's Minnesota, Monarch Healthcare, Cerenity Care, and Homeward Bound.

By earning their CNA certification, students not only gain a valuable workforce credential but also take an important step toward future careers in nursing, medicine, allied health, and other healthcare professions.
