Helping fitness businesses maximize revenue

10/30/2023

“I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life. I'm still working through it personally, but the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic or drug addict comes up to me and says, 'Will you help me?' I will always say, 'Yes, I know how to do that. I will do that for you, even if I can't always do it for myself! So I do that, whenever I can. In groups, or one on one.
And I created the Perry House in Malibu, a sober-living facility for men. I also wrote my play The End of Longing, which is a personal message to the world, an exaggerated form of me as a drunk. I had something important to say to people like me, and to people who love people like me.
When I die, I know people will talk about Friends, Friends, Friends. And I'm glad of that, happy l've done some solid work as an actor, as well as given people multiple chances to make fun of my struggles on the world wide web...
but when I die, as far as my so-called accomplishments go, it would be nice if Friends were listed far behind the things I did to try to help other people.
I know it won't happen, but it would be nice."

It's been a minute, as they say, since I've posted. Over one year, in fact. This page was started when I was a fitness business coach. What is that exactly? I don't know if I can properly explain what I used to do. Yes, used to. I no longer try to help fitness business owners increase revenue and change more lives. Hey, I just properly explained what I used to do. Why did I stop, you may wonder?

Oh, Lord, what's the succinct way to put it: Time for a change. Sometimes, you know when to "pivot". I could blame COVID, but truth is, I was ready before the virus.

It was lonely being a solopreneur, a word I still can't spell, much less explain accurately.

What have I been up to the past 2 years. From Amazon, to Peloton, to PowerBlock.............jobs. I tried to fit into a corporate brand. I tried. But it wasn't meant for me. I could provide a dissertation, a me version of War and Peace (and I promise it would be entertaining to read) to best explain why I couldn't "hack" it in the real world.

The short version: F**k corporate America. Give up your freedom in a free country, be forced to follow rules.........you know what I'm saying.

What am I doing now you may be thinking?

I moved away from my favorite state in my favorite city. I relocated to Colorado. For a job in corporate America...........with a catch.

I was able to be part of a company that allows people to live and work like entrepreneurs. A company that is helping people escape the corporate grind. I am vice president of business development.

That is my job title. I prefer "dream maker".

In short, I sell franchises. Sleep shops. Brick and mortar mattress stores. Fun, innovative, very profitable, I am part of helping people like I once was escape the rules and the confinement, the reporting to do**us number 3 and do*****ag number 5.

So, not to put out a sales pitch, but holla if you are interested in knowing more about Snooze Mattress Company.

This page: Well, I don't intend to post constantly about Snooze Mattress Company. I do intend, however, to bring back something near and dear to me. Something that never went away, it merely took a rest for a second.

Goby. The best and most accurate personality assessment out there. In a world where everybody has a communication device glued to their palm, we have never been worse at interpersonal communication. And the number one reason I hated the corporate world is probably the number one reason everybody hates the corporate world: Crappy communication from do**us number 3 and do*****ag number 5.

To say it another way: The reason you call John the VP of something or another, a do*****ag or a do**us, is because he sucks at communication.

Goby is coming back with a book and a new website. We are using it at Snooze and it will soon be available for you to use.

And one more thing: Look for TAZ training to pop up on this page someday soon as well. That site is up and running. taztraining.net

You may be saying to yourself, "Jason, you said you were done helping gyms." I did say that. I am finished coaching gyms as a full time job and direct source of income. I haven't forgotten how to sell memberships and more importantly, how to get over 1/3 of your members (in a mainstream gym) to purchase coaching.

TAZ is a trademarked exercise program that comes with coaching and training on how to sell PT. It's a licensing program that we are practically giving away when we launch it next year.

That's all for now. Follow me for articles and blogs on personality, on why you should quit your job, on why liberals and conservatives are all mentally challenged. Follow me if you simply like honesty with a bunch of swear words sprinkled in.

The Only 5 Exercises That You Really Need - PowerBlock 07/15/2021

I used to write about ways to run a better fitness business. I have a feeling that I may never write about that subject again. Maybe. But not anytime soon. Quick version: Web guy dies. My website is registered to him. I use this as a reason to "pivot" my career. And I don't bother taking the steps (death cert, jump through a few go-daddy hoops) to get site in my name. Now some Asians own it. And they just renewed it for another year. I am not sure how much yen they want for it, but if it's more than the American equivalent of $16.57, then they can keep it as long as they desire. I now work for a fitness equipment company. I am the Director of Marketing for PowerBlock, Inc. We make the world's best dumbbells (adjustable) and I get to do all kinds of fun things in my new role. We started a podcast. Two episodes per week. One with a guest, one with a co-host and I taking on health and fitness topics. And we started a blog. I use fitness pros from around the world to write blog posts offering health and fitness tips. I don't plan to write many myself, but I did write this one. If you are a fitness pro and like to write, and are interested in being a contributing blog poster for Powerblock.com then shoot me and email [email protected] If you read this blog post and want to comment, please do so.

The Only 5 Exercises That You Really Need - PowerBlock The human body has about 600 muscles. The number of different (and safe) dumbbell exercises that have been invented is probably over 100. So, how many movements should you be doing? Well, it depends……………. When I was 18 years old, I wanted to be bigger. I did whatever the body builders at t...
